A letter was read from the Aurora !4emorial Arena Board relating to
an application for permisRion to erect poster pB.nels on the Horthern
side of the parking area at the ArAna.
DEPUTY REEVE HUHRAY; DAVIS: That permiRsion be given to the Arena
Boll.rd to rent part of their land for this pur1Jose, Carried,

A letter from Mr. R.G. Tucker tendering his resignation from the
Arena Board w·as read.
KING: DEPUTY REEVE MURHAY: That the resignation be 1!-CCepted and
tha.t the Clerk notify the Lion~ s Club, and ask for their nomination
to replace him. Carried.
A letter from the York County Health UnJ.t 1"ras read, Thl.s letter
related to the payment of the 1954 levy, and the Clerk ·was instructed
to bring this matter up before the 1954 Council.
A letter from the Tm-mshJ.p of lV'ni tchurch relating to the Fix•e
Hetainer Fee was read.

FireChiefHarry Jones Dresentecl a report of the activities of the
Fire Department during l95J. -
NAVIS: KING: That Mr. Jones be thanked foX' the lvork of the Fire
Department during the year. Carried.
The Clerk was instructed to have the recommendations of the Fire
Department brought up before the 1954· Council.. Ivlr, Jones also
brought up the subject of Council's investigation of the Fire Depart-
ment accounts.

of the yeal', that he be paid. 83 hours overtime at the rate of

ce.r be refused as this Committee feel that hl.s salary as Chief

J, That a Personnel .Committee be set up to revise the present wages
of town employees,

recommended that a street light be erected on Kennedy St, East, <<est

property formerly m>ned by the Humane Society. --

Councillor King reported on the treatment of dogs, l.njured on the
streets, whose mmers are not known and _this vms discussed briefly.
Councl.llor Jvloffat raise(l the Cj_uestion of a lot on Yonge Street,
8onth immediately South of the town limits. Council agreed that no
objections <Jould be taken to the action regarding this lot, proposed
by the Township of •vhi tchur_ch.
Oo'uncillor Jvloffat also preseritec1 a suggestion regarding the proponed
vl.R. Case Sub-division and some cliscussion' followed,
KING: DEPUTY REEVE imRRAY.: That this matter be left for consideration
by the 1954 Council. Carried,
Councillor King brought forward a letter from the Unemployment
Insurance Commission relating to permanently employed employees,
This was left over for consideration by the 195'1· Council.
Councillor Jvlurray issued an invi ts.tion to members to visit hil-l
home on New Years Eve.
