MINUTES - Council - 19490613ThiRTEENTH MEETING (SPECIAL) JUNE 13th 1949 A speo~l meeting of Council along with the Town Planning Board was held in the Council Chambers on Monday June l)th at s.oo p.m. ·1949. Council members present; Reeve Cook; Dep.Reeve Corner; Councillors,Corbett; Davies; GlasstJones;Murray;Pringle. . . . . Members of the Planning Board; Dr.Boulding; W.S.Mills; A.M.Cousins; E.H.Clarke; and Consultant P.A.Deacon. Reeve Cook assumed the Chair in the absence of Mayor Rose~ Mr~ Deacon explained the purpose of the Land Use Plan, which was.exhibited and his reason for believing it to be of value in the future. After considerable discussion and enquiries the following motion was passed. DAVIES, CORNER; That the Aurora Council approve the Basic Land Use Plan as it exists. Carried. The matters of services for new sUb-divisions was also discussed in detail, along with a proposed building By-Law~ GLASS, DAVIES: That any new sub-division in the future must be presented to the Planning Board and to the Council for approval. If such sub-division be considered premature that the sub-divider may be asked to provide the necessary public utilities, such as Roads, water, and Sewers. Carried. On motion of Councillors GLASS & DAVIES a vote of thanks was tendered the Planning Board for their enlightening information~ Carried. J At this time the business with the Planning Board had been completed, and the Board retired. o As there were some matters needing immediate attention and the hour of midnight was approaching. a Motion by Dep~ Reeve Corner and Councillor Davies That the time of the meeting be extended after midnight in order to deal with these matters. Carried~ Councillor Glass, Chairman of the Sanitation Committee made a report of the Committee meeting Jun~ 9th with Mr. Buchanan re new garbage dumping ground, Contract for the.same, and possibility of cleaning the main business block street on Sunday, etc. CORNER, DAVIES; That the report of the Social & Sanitation Committee be accepted and the Seal of the Corporation be attached to this resolution. Carried. A letter from the Secretary of the Recreation Commission was received# dealing with work at McMahon Park~ That the park be graded by the Commission, and a back stop for ball be erected at the north ~rest corner. CORBETT, JONES; That the Council grant permission to the Recreation Comm~ to proceed with the grading and back stop at McMahon Park. The Town to bear the expense of the grading, and that the seal of the Corporation be attached to this resolution. Carried~ Meeting adjourned at 12.10 *~d~ MAYOR
