FIFTH ME:ETING(SPECIAL) March loth 1947 ·
A special meeting of Council was held in the Council Chambers March loth
1947 with representatives from the Vi:atllage of" Richmond Hill, in the
persons of. Reeve Wm. Neal, Councillors Percy Hill; Ralph Paris; Cecil
Mabley; Wesley Middleton and Clerk Russell Lynett,-~ For Newmarket, Geo.
Byers; Frank Bowser and Clerk Wesley Brooks~
The Aurora Council was present as follows; Mayor R. Linton; Reeve C .E .Sparks
Dep. Reeve A.A.Cook; Chas. Davies; Victor Jones; J. E. Sisman; T.F.Swindle;

Upon motion of Wm. Neal, seconded by Wesley Middleton, Mayor Linton of
Aurora w~s nominated to act as Chairman for the evening.
As the idea was orininally brought about by Richmond Hill, Reeve Neal was
asked to outline the purpose they had in mind in calling the meeting, which
was to see if the joint erection of an incinerator to serve these three
municipalities was possible and if all were interested in getting figures
in or&er to go into the matter further.
Mayor Linton, Councillor Byers, and Reeve Neal severally explained the
present facilities for the collection of garbage in each Municipality.
MIDDLETON, BYERS; That the Clerk of Aurora get as much information pertaint
ing to original costs, operation and the capacity needed to serve the
population of the three Municipalities. Also to contact Dr. A. E. Berry of
the Department of Health to attend a meeting at a later date when all
three Councils could be present. The Clerk of Aurora to set the date of
this meeting and notify Ricbmona Hill and Newmarket Clerks of such
meeting'~
