.. .. That the Council strongly protests the 8.ction of the
Council of the Corllora tion of the City of Toronto in applying to the
Legislature of the Province of Ontario for a change in tli.e 'l'oronto (!lnd
York Roads Commissi9n that the City of Toronto be relieved in its con-
tribui;ion towo.rds the maintenomce of the ro2,ds under the jurisdiction of the
Commission.
'l'ha t , in view of the benefits the City of Toronto derives
from good roads lea.ding to and from the City and of the use of thes roads,
noj; only by the citizens of Toronto,but 0lso, by a very great n\Jmber of
business firms,this Council urge the Legislature to make no change in the
said Commission, suchE>,s to relieve in .. any wa.y the City of Toronto from its
present proportion of the costs of maintenance of the said roads.
