The TWENTY FOuRTH meeting of the Council was held in the Council Chambers
om. Mo!!day Evening, December 9th, with the Ma,yor in the Chair and all
Members :pr~sent except Councillor Wilson. Meeting opened at 8.15.
Copies of H~ghway Agreement for snow removal and sanding were read over
a.n.d colll!llented on, after which the following resolution was passed.
GUNTON, LINTON. That the Cl:erk be instructed to write the Highway Engineer
to interview the Council ~nd discuss the Highway Dept.suggestions. That the
matter be dealt w;i.th at the nex.t meeting of Council. Carried
The minutes of the twenty third meeting were.read and approved on motion
of Linton and Henderson •
GUNTON,STlJAlZT. That the following accounts be paid, that the ll.!ra;yor issue
orders on the Treasurer for the same, ant that the seal of the Corporation
be attached thereto.

By-law, be paid· Carried
STUMT,HENDERSON. Complying with the request of the Business Men, the
Town Foreman is hereby authorised to secure a suitable tree, and have same
places in position and said tree to be illuminated by Geo. Walker the Town
Electrician, and that a sufficient number of Coloured Lamps be purchased
for that purpose, and that the seal of the Corporation. be attached hereto.

MALLOY,LINTON. That the resolution dated November 4th.1940, re granting tije
Mechanics Hall to the Badminton Club he reainded. ·
That the Aurora. Badminton Club, the Ladies Badminton Club, the A.Y.P.A.
Badminton Club:, be granted the use of the Mechanics Hall at the following
rates;-Afternoon ~~1.00, Evening ~~1.25. The C'aretaker to keep account of
use by respective clubs and report weekly to the Clerk. FCarried.

SPARKS, IlENDERSON. That the Town collect from Howard Lloyd the Q,ueens
Hotel. Billiard Parlor, the sum of $55.00 being the balance due on the
assessment of $130.00 for the year 1940, and the seal of the Corporation
be attached hereto. Carried.
A By-law was introduced, given it's three reading and passed for the
protection qf trees and regulating the planting thereof.
MALLOY,LINTOl'f. That the Aurora Boys Band be paid the sum of $17.50"'for
services rendered at the Drum Head Service Oct.l3th •• That the seal of
the Corporation be attached to this resolution. Carried.
Council adj~urned at 11.45 to meet as soon as notified by the Clerk when
arrangements have been made with the Highway Engineer for discussion of
Yonge Street snow removing and sanding.
