T.FI:E SEVENTH l\IIEETING OF T.H:El COUNCIL FOR THE Y.EAR ~940 was held in the council
room on Monday eve•Apri~ 29th.with the mayor presiding and the Reeve,-:eputy Reeve

and Councillors Gunton Henderson and stuart attending.
The minutes of the sixth meeting were adopted on motion of Messrs Malloy and
Gun ton.
A eputation of the Aurora Hookey c~ub composed of Mr • .J.B.Walker,Dr.:Boulding ,
and M.G.JJePencier sked for a grant of ~h50•00 towards the expemnzes of' the c~ub;. ,
~ MALL~OY SPARKS that tha grant of $~2o•oo be made to the Aurora .Junior :B.Hockey C~
ub and that the seal of the corporation be attached hereto. Carried.O
A delegation from the soft ball c~ub attended the meeting and asked for a new
back stop screen ,.the dia.monris rolled,and ropes to keep the spectators back.
Iii!ALLOY HENDERSON that the request of the Aurora Soft .ball; Club concerning a
screen,rope,and diamond rolled,.and put in suitable condition be granted.The Property
Co=ittee to supervise and report cos:b of' sa.me. Carried•
Tlre report of the High School Inspector was submitted to council •
A Letter from the Ontario 0 a:fety League was read.

ittee be appointed to arrange the necessary details and agenda ;and tha.t not more thal
thirty dollars be spent thereon;the committee to be composed Of Dr.Gunton,Dr.Devins,
Mrs•Wilcox,Dr.Henderson,.J.Stuart and A.N.Fisher. Carried.
SPARKS HENDERSON tht the property committee along with the Mayor be authirised
to procure a fire proof door for the vault and get an estima:te of cost for installing\.

painting of the exterior of the town hall • Carried.
GUNTON HENDERSON that the Canadian Institute for the blind,Toronto,be permitted
to conduct a tag day on May.4th. Garried.
