Carried. A letter from the :B'ire Brigade informing council of their selection of a. Chief to succeed :!!'.Rowe was laid over for a future meeting by unanimous consent. Dr.Gunton reported upon matters of relief decided during the past month and upon his conclusions in delving into the matter;. A letter from the Bell Phone Co regarding permission to ere!lft a pole on Ma.ch- ell.Ave produced a resolution sponsered by Messrs Stuart and Wilson,that the Bell Co.be granted the right to erect a pole on Maahell Ave,under the supervision of the Chairman of the E.L.Dept. Carried. SPARKS Hl!rrfDERSON that all requests for grants be presented to the Chairmen of the l!'inance COllll1littee on or before the fifteenth day of .u'ebruary 1940,and that no request be entertained by thlils council after that date. Carried. MALLOY STUART that a Willard .wattery of 17 plate be purchased for the town tr1 uck according to price obtained by the chairman of the Streets Committee. Carried!
