The minutes of the last meeting were read and a.dopted,on motion of Mr.Stuart
and Iwr.Bald.win ..
Messrs Evans. and McCaul appea.red before council asking for a grant for the
Ho;gse Show.
rw:r:F.W.Teasdale appeared asking for ~~ e action to be taken in the matter of
a front entrance to his home.
LEE KNOWLES that the action of the mayor in issuing orders on the treasurer for

The report of the Property committee as prepared by Mr.Hulse was read as follow:

"Applications for the position of caretaker were received by your committee.There
were 4 applicants,one of whom lived outside the municipality and accordingly his
application co.uld not be c.onsidered..favorably.The qualifications and wages asked
were c.arefully consider ad. by the conuuittee and we recommend that no change be made
in the position Of caretaker at this time.Your C01llc'1littee ag~in must impress on the
present caretaker tha.t if further complaints are received,.or the work ~s not carr-
ied. aut sa tisfactmrily, it ma.y again be necessary to seek further applica tiona for

Engineers to investigate into a.nd.i report to council on the disposition of the

tannery waste,to cover the preliminary survey at the agreed upon price of two hun-
dred dollars,pursuant to the communications from the Collis Lea,ther Co.Ltd.a.nd that
the seal of the corpora.tion be attached to this res.olution.
Mr.Stuart e.sked that the vote be recored.The result was as follows ;Yea the
M.ayor,Reeve,De:puty Reeve.Councillors Baldwin 0 Bunn and Lee;Nay,Mr.Stuart.The motion
was declared carried.
A letter wa.s read from the Ciecretary of the County Coronation committee and
·was ordered spread on the minutes by motion of Messrs Stuart and :Bunni" We have bee
instructed by the York County voronation Cormnittee to extend their thanks to tha
as Mayor,Reeve J.A.Knowles.JJeputy Reeve c.Malloy,to each of the members of your
council,and your Officials,for the splendid cooperation given in connection with
the joint celeb:l:.ation of the King's Coronation at Aurora on Wednesday,""ay 12th.
'fhe committee were appreciative of the services of all those who in any way
made possible this splendid day.They feel that s.M.Goulding,as Marshal,handled
the parade and ceremonial in a way that merits comment.

The Inspector of Hospitalization for the County.Dr.Cooke.wrote calling our att-
ention to the fact that our hospital account had increased for the first three months
of the year as compared with the same months of 1936.The l.etter was filed,on motion
of Messrs.Knowles an1 Lee.
The council of the clity of Sarnia wrote asking our endorsation of a resolution
to the Provincial "overnment.On motion of Messrs .baldwin and WJ.alloy the matter was
referred to the Bylaws committee.
A notice from WJ.rs.S.Warren com:pla.ining of an a.ccident sustained by her husband
was referred to the solicitor and to the A.I:.Ylilson Co.,on motion of Mr.Lee & l\[r.Bunn
Mr.C.Badger complained of stumps being dug out and left in fran t of his lot
and also asked that a big elm tree shading his land be removed,.
Complaints were enumera.ted of cars belonging to townspeople beinh parked for sev-
eral hours on Saturday evening in front of business places,and the clerk was instruct!
ed to get a. li.st of such and write them regarding it ..
A number of e.pplications for the position of meter reader were presented and .on
motion of Messrs .. Dtuart and Bunn were read .. After sorr.e consideration Mr.Bunn moved,
seconded by Mr.Baldwin that the rna. tter be left over for future consideration. c.._rried,
