THE SECOND MEETING OF THE COUNCIL FOR THE YEAR 1937 was held in the council room
on1 ]IJ[onday eve.Feb.lst.with all the members in attendance and the mayor presiding.
The minutes of the preceding meeting were perused and adopted on motion of the
Reeve and Mr.Lee.

-. married mothers was filed on motion of Messrs.Hulse and Stuart.
The Ont;,Parks Ass:'n asking for membership was likewise filed,Stua.rt Bunn.
c.McEown .. re advertising was referred to the coronation committee when formed.
Tli.e Veterans asked fori!lthe :privelege of tagging on Coronation day.
The Library Board asked for an appropriation of $1000.00 and ta.bled their budget
the matter was referred to the Finance comm.on motion of Messrs Hulse & Bunn.
The Bell Phone Co.asked tha.tb a Bylaw :permitting them greater liberty in the
erection or moving of :poles and wires was referred to the Bylaws comm.Lee Stuart.
A letter from Cousins Dairy was handed to the w.w.comm. for a report on motion
of Messrs .Lee and Baldwin.
Mr.Lee for the Fin.Com.a.sked that committees have their estimates :prepared,and
be ready to ha.nd them to the Fin.Com.on Monday eve.Feb.l5th.

Mr.Hulse for the Prap.Com.reported as follows,'1 The council made an inspection
of the Mechanics Hall and decided to redecorate the hall.The stage has been narrowed
and the walls and ceiling have been replaced by panelled ten test material.The side
lighting system has been changed to a mare modern and suitable ane.It is :planned

Armitage regarding certain conditions existing at the Arena will be dealt with by
your committee prior to the next meeting of caunci1.3.Your committee recommend the
purchase of a set of belts far the Disposal plant.appraximate cost $15.00.to re-
place the old warn aut ones.
Mr.Hulse for the Musical Festival committee reported writing the Finance comm•
of County Council asking far an appointment to discuss: the matter of a grant,but
had-received no reply to date.Mr.Malloy stated he had the promise of several don-
a.tions from individuals and township. councils.
The E.Light committee reported in favor of placing stronger lights on Yonge st.

--purchase 500 watt lamps to replace the old 300 watt lamps fpr the business section
of the town,an recammende,tion of the Aurora Board of Trade.s.nd that the same be

HULSE T:RE that the request of Mr.S.Cook be left with the Relief Comm. carried.

Mr.Stuart stated there is a request'for the continuation of the sewe:e on George
St.nothh and east to aill and Wellington•
HULSE BALDWIN that permission be given the Aurora Veterans Associe.tion to hold
a tag day on Coronation day,May 12th. Carried.
Mr.Hulse drew attention to the lack of fa.cilities in the court room.
The treasurer submitted his report for the month of January.
Mr.Lee explained the arrangement the Finance committee had proposed to the
Collis Leather C~. for rental of part of the old factory.
STUART BUNN that the plastering and decorating of the Mech.~ll be left in the
hands of the Prop.comm.for immediate action Carried.
