THE FOURTH MEETING OF THE COUNCIL FOR THE YEAR 1935 was held in the council
:t:oom..~n MQn~ eve.Ma.rch. 4th.with the mayor presiding and all the members in att-
endanaeo.
The minutes of the :preceding meeting were read and a:p:proved,on motion of the
Deputy Reeve andMr.Baldwin.
The treasurer presented the statement of receipts and expenditures for the
' two months of ti1e_yea:t: with an explanatory statement and explanation of tiLe new
ledge:t: now in uae.
M'r~C.MOEown addressed the council regarding the small pa:t:k and the sign which
he hci:pea "to ·erect and establish at the south entrance to the town.
Mr .. Scott of the Gutta Percha Rubber Co.asked for a share of the business in
· nww: fire hose and displayed a. line which-they are discontinuing at a slightly
reduc-ed figure.
Mr.Hilborn presented his report in book form and explained the headings under ..
which he :pas arranged the rep.ort of the years transactions..He placed four copies
at the disposal of council and will complete six more with the arrears left out.

The Pub~ic Library .ooard submitted their _budget of expenditure for the year.
of $85o.oii and e~timated receipts of $150.00 and asked for a grant of $tOo.oo
KNOWLES BUNN that the report of the Pub~ic Library Board be hereby received

yeaz:s,be hereby granted,payment to be made as required,and that the seal odr the

Mr.Baldwin for the E.L. committee gave a statement of materials on hand as
compiled by Mr.Langman.'l'his ·was referred to the R.&.B.Committee.

opinion of your vommittee the request of Fire chief .Orciwning to have a hydrant
plac.ed behind the stores on the we.st side of Yonge o)t.be favorably considered as
an important fire protection measure by the w.w.and .l:'roperty committeesoThat in
the interest of adequate fire protection and in compliance with the regulations
of the fire underwriters it is essential that 300 feet of hose be purchased by
your eommittee for the corporation,the purchase to be made as follows;l50 feet
Duplex model off ltoodyear l'ire and Bubb.er Co at $1.00 per foot and 150 feet of
Superflex model off Dominion Rubber Co.at $1.00 per foot.'l'hat repairs have been
made to the drivers seat of the fire truck at a cost of $5.51 for material,the
work done by relief labor.Report received on motion of Mr.Malloy and Mr.Baldwin.
