Mr.F.Browning addressed the Council regarding the advantage of fire drill
in the schools and an inspection of public and industrial buildings as well as I
the need of a fire hydrant at t~e rear of the stores on the west side of Yonge St.

The York County Veterans Association asked the privelege of holding a tag
day on Sat.Nov.llth. i
SOUTHWOOD LARGE that the Local Branch of the Y .c • .veterans be granted permiss
on to hold a tag day on Nov.llth. Carried.

Mr.Aemelius wrote,expressing the thanks of the Hunters Trials for the grant
from the corporation. This was ordered filed.
A letter from Jas.Black was read,a.sking the Council to releive him from
tax as he had disposed of the animal .On the advice of the solicitor that no

could legally be taken,the matter was filed.
The letters regarding insurance on the Disposal Plant was referred to the
Finance committee.
Letter from James Proctor and .t\edfern was ordered filed.
The Aurora Horse and Stock Show certified to their annual show and asked for
-their grant.
From the Dept.of Labour respecting inspection of the w.W.plant heating,the
clerk was instructed to reply,detail.ing the system now in use.
Mr.Large read a statement from Mr.Langman of the gas,oil and lamps on hand
and the immediate needs,and the statement was ordered filed.
Mr.Bunn reported verbally that the contractors were meeting some difficulty
with sand but were making progress.with the new well.
Mr.Btuart for the relief committee reportee,.•That the amount paid for relief
for September was $569.35,with 25 families and 5 single men on relief.At present

many of the men are working at Bradford .We expect this work will lasn two weeks
which will relieve the town of considerable expense.Adopted on motion of Mr.Bunn
and Mro.Large.
Mr.Stuart for the Property committee reported that Mr.A.McBride is operating the.
booth at the arena from week to week on the same basis. as-last year,60-407i> division;
Mr.ii..nowles reported that. the R.&.B.Connnittee are attempting to patch the holes
in the streets with oiled tops.After discussion the matter¥W was left with the com-'
mittee with the additional suggestion that they look into the condition of Centre S
BOWMAN LARGE that the BUill of ninety dollars be granted to the Aurora. Horse
Show similar to the amount paid in 1933 and that the seal of the aorp.b:e attached
to the resolution. Carried.
Mr.Bowman read the nine months comparative statement of the treasurer in the
receipts and expenditures of the three accounts in the corporation,showing a very
similar situation to that of the preceding year.On motion of Mr.Stuart and .llll.r.South
wood the statement was-received ..
SOUTHWOOD BOWMAN, that the Fire Chief ,Mr .F .Browning.and Mr .Dm!ham,superintendent
(and the cha~irman of Fire Connni tt.ee )be instructed to make an inspection of private
and public buildings for fire hazards.and that our citizens be asked to aoopera.te .
with these officials in cleaning up any hazards that might cause fires.Fire losses
in O~ario are on the increase and our citizens are asked to observe Fire Prevent
ion Week,Oct.7th.to 13th.by doing all they can to assist at all times in removing
a;pfl possible fire hazards,and that this be given due prominence in the Banner.

The 5a.tter of a hydrant in the rear of the stores on the west side of Yonge
St.was referred to the Waterworks committee.
