that the law did. not permit any relie:f from taxation ,and at a later point the
elerk was instructed to inform them that the council proposed to adhere to the

STUART BUN.I.'i·,that the applioation of the Aurora Football Club to hold a street
d'ance .TunE~' 22nd.be granted,and that the town employees give their usual cooper-
ation in the matter. Carried.
On the matter of street traffic regulation the mayor appointed a committee
of Messrs~Bowman Knowles an4 Southwood• to go further into the matter.
BOWMAN STUART, in view of the acute shortage of water~and the consequent
possible impending danger to the protection of health and to property.that it is
deemed expedient that all citizens curtail the use of water.for all purposes except
for those d'omestic and commercial uses as are absolutely necessary.and that the use
o.f hose for the purpose of watering lawns be limited to one hour each evening.:Crom
eight tp nine .that one hundred bills be posted in conspicuous places in the c.orp-
oration.and that a notice of' such restriction of the use of water be published in
the Aurora. Banner• Carried.
SOUTHWOOD BOWMAN that a grant of fifty dollars be given to the town band
this being the same as last year.and that the seal of the Corp.be attached hereto.

on the propos.ed well.under the guidance of MR.D.H.Fleming,consulting engineer,and
we recommend that the tender of Jordan Roberta for a 20 11 well with motorbo head,
S"'eolumn,.anci bronze wearing rings be accepted. at $8962.00.•t
Mr.Fleming spoke to the report.
STUART :sumr, that the report of. the W .w.commi ttee for a construat~:~d well and pumJ!
be accepted~and thatn the tender of Jordan Roberts at a cost of $8962.00 be agreed
to-and that the work be proceeded with immecUately,and that the seal of the Corp •.
be attached hereto.The complete cost of the well is estimated to be $11000.00
SOUTHWOOD LARGE 0submitted an amendment "we are of the oplilanHII•-that this
project .. is too,, costly to undertake at the present time and under the present con-
ciitions.Further we do not think the situation is such as to justify this large
expenditure,which in twenty years ,with interest charges will more than double in
abandoned for the present,and that

proceed to
the w.w.comnittee be ins-trueted to locate a site for another well of the present t~
type to augment our water supply and to report at their earliest convenience.
