acaount for thawing at water pipeso.
The· usual ass-essment for the water lot in King Tp.was tabled as were also
letters of thanks from the Womems Institute and the Salv.Army,and notice of
removal sign from E.L.Ruddy Co. The llept.of Highways stating that the llept.do
not favor stop lights on the system unless the cross traffic is nearly as heavy
as on the highway,was filed•Mr.B.L.Boag,asking the counoil to state their int-
ention regarding abstraats to follow the plan of the town was referred to the
County Representatives;on mo.tion of Messrs.Stuart and Bunn.

to. aps.s a Bylaw compelling barber shops to close at 9.P.M. on Monday to Thurs-
days inc.lusive except during December.On motion of Messrs•Buim and Southwood the
solicitor was instructed to prepare a Bylaw.
1\fr .Hilborn, auditor read his report to date 1 sj:;ating that he has checked the

accounts of the first three months,and asking authority to purchase a ledger;jour-
naL,and a.card system for the Water acco.unts when the latter has been worked out.
~he Assrssor presented his report and delivered the assessment rolJ..The report
shows an ;;:ssessment o.f $l572272.00.tpopulation 2730 ;births 37 and dea the 20.
M:r.Thompson arrived and took ,his seat .•
Mr.Large,for the E.L.Committee reported,11 At the request of.Mr.Warren of the
Royal Theatre following'tl:ie reso.lution passed-by last years councili.it was decided
to allow him the choice of a flat rate,or a combined rate on the two serviceso.He
decided on a flat rate as previous.ly promised.and the amount was set at $12.00 per
month.Cousins applied for a new transformer to be placed near the house on his
property at the south end,to accomodate an electric stove he intends installing;
tlhie coat of transformer would be about $l50.00.Upon investigation it was found that
the former owner (Hodgkinson)had used a big MCClary stove with good success and

therefore it was decided to let Cousins try out his stove '!'{ith the present method
and report if not satisfactory.Adopted on motion of Messrs.~Thompson and Knowles •
Mr~Large read his report of consumption of lamps and gasoline and amount on
hand of each commodity•
lll[r.Stuart reported that the relief total for'March was $727.92,for April
$864.20,iast year for the same month $594.94;and 27 families on' relief.Report acce
pted on motion of the Reeve and Jll[r.Bunn.
Mr.Thompson read the comparative statements of the Treasurer for this and last
year showing receipts and expenditures about the same for eachoAdopted on motion
of Mr.Southwood and Mr.Bowman•
BUNN STUART that the application of Mrs.Bell,Machell Ave,for water service

Mr.Bunn for the w.w~Committee introduced a report on the installation of a
large' pumped well and asked MroFleming to present his report on the survey~Council
went into committee of the whole to consider the report and after much discussion
rose and reported progress with the decision to meet at 7.30 Wed•eve.view the
Bradford well and hold a meeting upon return here to further discuss the water
question.

SOUTFDNOOD THOlll'SON,that Lot 98 shown on Pl<m 120 be sold to Mr.E.J .Eveleigh
for the~a~··;.r "$i56'~66."with th~ understanding that he accept payment of. the 1934
taxes. on said lot,and that the aolicitor be instruc.ted to draw up the necessary
deed of same,and we further stipulate that he build a house on this lot during
the present year. Carried.
Mr.Southwood for the fire Comm .• reported, llAll prices received for hose being
the same,on reaommendation of Fire Chief and Officers,we recommend that 150' of
fmxe hose be purchased from the Dominion Rubb~r Co.Ltd.superflex,at $1.00 p~r foo
STU.ART BUNN that the report of the committee be received and adopted,That
15.0 fe~t-of hose be purchased for the sum of $150.00 from the Dom.Rubber co•and
that the seal of the Copr .be attached hereto. Carried.

STU.ART BUNN that the council of the corporation of the town of Aurora express
our deep-sorrow at the passing of the late Col•T.H.Lennox M.P.and formerly sol-
icitqr for the town of Aurora and that the date of his passing,May third,be rea-
orded in the annals of our town• Carried.
