THE AD.TOURl'lED SESSION of the Fifth meeting of the Council fort he
year 191}~ was held an Monday eve.Feb.l3th.with the lvTa.ycr presiding a nd all the
members in attendance.
The solicitar.Mr.Naughton,cccupied a chair at the table.
The w~yor explained that the amendm.en$.upon which a tie vote was
recorded at the last session was deal~ l~_
On the recommendation of the eelieiteF,in order to bring it properly
(major)
before Cauncil,Mr.Knowles signed the report of the Electric Light Committee
and presented it to Council.
After an opportunity had been extended to anyone who wifhed to speak
to the motion,the question was called and the Mayor announced that the yeas and
nays would be recorded.
The record of the vote was:-yeas,Messrs.Blay,Bunn,ll!Ta.lloy and Stuart.
Nays,~-tae Mayor,Reeve,Deputy Reeve and l!lirr .. DeLaHaye.The motion was declared
lost ..
The Mayor instructed the Electric Light and Finance cownittee,under
the chairmanship of Mr.Legge to study the QUestion and submit a report.
The Industrial Committee reported that the County Engineer thought
favorably of the article manufactured by Mr.Swallow,and suggested that an inter-
view be arranged with him at an early date ..
The Bylaw Committee were instructed to enquire into the question of
the right to further restrict the sale of meat in town by those not occupying
shops.
The Council adjourned,on motion of Messrs.Legge and Blay.
