THE EIGHTEENTH lliffiETING of the Council for the year 1930 was held in the
Council Chamher on Monday evening Bec.8th.with the Reeve 1 Mr.Murray,presiding
and the Deputy Reeve and all the Councillors in attendance.
The Minutes of the preceding meeting were read and adopted.
Mr.I.B.Thornton appeared before Council,asking for an increased grant for
the Poultry Association,and also with a suggested programme for the music in the
Arena for skating purposes.
Mr.W.L.Stephens appeared and complained of a difference between his assess-
ment slip a d the figures copied from the Assessment Roll.
Communications were received and tabled as follows,
The :Milk Inspector, ~uarterly report;
The :Medical Officer of Health1 annual report;
JeA.Ellis,regarding the grant for relief og unemployment~
H.Armitage and c.Fry,asking for a portion Of the Arena insurance;
Six tenders were received for the booth priveleges for the arena for the
present skating season.

Eilbrough,Stuart,that the tender of S.G.Patrick for the booth at the arena
at the price of $135.00,for the season of Dec.lst.l930 to April lst.l93l,be acc-
epted,the same to be covered by an agre~ment prepared by the Town Clerk. Carried.

UNDERHILL,DELAHAYE,that the Waterworks Committee have full power of
' the unemployment burrau. Uarried. ..
BILBROUGH,sTUAaT,that the relief work,in connection witl1 the Govern-
ment grant for unemployr~ent relief,be started lirunediately,and that the scale
of wages paid be thirty five cents per hour,the same to date from I.lec.Bth.

Considerable time was spent discussing matters pertaining to the are~
and several deci·sions arrived at which will act as a guide to the Property
Committee in submitting a detailed report of proposed procedure at the next
Meeting of the Council.
On motion of Messrs.DeLaHaye and Underhill,the Council adjourned. until
Monday evening Dec.l5th.at a.P.M.
