The Minut.es of the prece!ll:ing meeting were read &.nd approved.
The foilawing communications were submitted. for consideration;
A petition s.igned by eighty per cent of the owners of adjacent property,
e.sking for the resurfacing of Yonge st.under the Local Improvement Act"
A certificate from :lfJXssrs James Proctor and Redfern for :paynJent on acct.
t_o Mr.F.:Browning,for work on the foundation.
The T.T.C.acknowledging receipt of notice of intention to :pave to the rail
and again disclaiming responsibility for rnaintainance or repairs;:
i'L notice of claim &.gainst the Town for the damage done in collission with
the Town truck,from :MJ:·.K.M:.Stiver,sdllicitor for Mr.C.She:p:pard.,and a letter of
thanks from lVI:r-.A.E?Jarvis ,on behalf of the Hunters Trials Assn.for the dona.t-
ion for their field day.
1\iioved by Dr.Underhill,seconded. by Mr.Thom:pson and carried that a. permit be
granted. Mr.Gregory for the erection of a gasoline pump on ~'!ellington st.west.
M:oved by Mr.Sauthwood,seconded by ~Jrr.Knowles-and carried that the sum of
eleven hundred and forty dollars be :paid ¥1X.F.Browning ,for :part payment,.as
certified by l\i'!X-.Redfern,on the foundation for the new stand:pi:pe,and that the
seal of the Corporation be attached to this resolution.
I<tr.MUrray asked leave to introduce a Bylaw to enable the Corporation to
assume the special assessment charged against the lands abutting thereon,for
their :proportion of the cost of the original pavement on Yonge street. ~he By-
law was given its first.second and third readings in regular and lega~ farlll
and was l:iuly assented to and. signed bj;: the Mayor and Clerk.
A Bylaw to authorise the construction of resurfacing of pavement on Yange
street ,from a :point 400 feet south of Ransom at.to a point 300 feet north of
1\iiaple st ,from the curb to the outer rail of the T.T.C:.traaks was introduced
by Mr.Knawles,given it€ first,.s.econd and. third readings in re(?;Ular and legal
fom ,was duly assented to and was signed by the Mayor and Clerk.
A motion was :presented by N'J.r.Ga.se,seconded by JJIX.Thampson and carried tha.t
the Mayor and Clerk be authoriz:ecJ. to enter into a contract with the Warren Bit
