The six:th meetit~g of the Council for the year was held in the Town
Hal.l. on Monday evening April. 1eth.
The foll.owing members being present namely Mayor Wal. ton, Reeve llutt ay,
Deputy Reeve Case and Councillors Andrews, Boulding, Knowles and Thomp&~n
Communications were received ar1d read from the residents of the corner
of Wells and Cormaught Ave. re ~rew sidewalk and repairs to Street.
Mr w. s. Wil.son re painting subway sigr1. Mr 0. N. Birchard re bridge at
enterance to their property on Tyler Street.
Moved by Mr Andrews seconded by Ur Knowl.es that the following accounts
be paid and that the Mayor issue orders on the Treasurer for the same
and that the seal. of the Corporation be ·attached to this resolution.

Moved by Mr Murray seconded by Mr Andrews that about twenty rods on
Kennedy Street from Uingats drive to Thorntons drive be gravelled ar1d
and about ten l.oads of gravel. otl Ross Street from llr Gl.asses to Mr Greigs
gate, ar1d that the seal. of the Corporation be attached to this resolution.

Moved by Mr Andrews seconded by Mr Murray that the fol.l.owing amounts
be paid to the Docters for their services in administerir1g Tox:id (Boaild
of Health) to Public School. Chi~dren Dr c. J. Devins, $10, oo Dr G. w.
Wil.liams $5$00, Dr w. J. Stevenson $10. @0, ar1d that the se.al. of the
Corpon.tion be attached to this resol.ution. Carried.

Moved by llr Andrews seconded by Mr Thompson that the Fire Committee
be and are hereby instructed to proceed with the preperations of plans
and specifications for the renovation of the portion of the Town Hall
known as the Market room into a proper place of accomodation for the
fire truck and the Clerks Office and submit $ame.bilo the Council at the ,.
next meeting. Carried.
Moved by Dr Boulding seconded by Mr Case that a. plan of the Town be
made by the Town officials to show the existing water mains and drains
size of pi'Pe and junction points, also di:..grams showing electric service
. lines. Carried.
Report of the Finance Committee.
Your Finance Committee have carefully reviewed the Auditors statement
and wish to compliment them upon the production of such a. complete add
careful statement of our standing. ·
1 We recommend that each be paid the sum of Fifty dollars forhi a
services. . .
2 That an abstract of the accounts be printed in the Banner wiilh the
Balance in each account shown seperateJ.y as a collective balance i$ apt
to leave an impression of some huge unexpended sum.
3 We recommend that the Collector be relieved from collecting 18e Poll
Tax from the attached lists and that he be instructed to proceed with
collection of all others. (A). (B).
4 That he be relieved. from collection of the amount set opposite tae
name of Miss C. Cawsey and Miss E. V. Robertson because of t-e termination
of their engagement here in middle of year.
5 That he be required to urge payment of taxes forthwith on theppai:
of all Residents in arrears.
6 That he be required to take the necessary steps to collect the renils
until taxes have been satisfied in the cases of attached list (C).
'7 That the names as per attached list D be handed to the Solic.itor
for collection. ·
In the Waterworks account the balance has increased during the year
by !112€35.15. Unless considerable expenditure is contemplated out of cap_
ital account we would recommend the purchase of $4@00 worth of Bonds.
The Electric Light balance has increased during the year ~200'7. ~n
and warrents the scrutiney of the Committee relative to purchase of Bonds
after present extensions have been taken C9.re of.

Finance Committee on the Auditors report be adopted.
Carried.
Moved by Mr Andrews seconded by Mr Thompson that the Auditors report
on the Town accounts of 1926 be received &ld adopted and that the Uayor
&ld Clerk be and are hereby instructed to sign the same.
Carried.
Council then adjourned to meet on Uonday evening April 25th at 8 o;cl~k.
