The fifth meeting of the Council for the year was held in the
Cou-ncil Chamber on Iionday evening April 26,

The following members being present namely:-Iviayor ·zal ton Reeve
Legge and Councillors Andrews, Bilbrough and Knowles.
The minutes of the previous meeting was read and confirmed.
Communications were received and read from the following persons
naJnely:-City Clerk Toronto acknowledging receipt of a copy of a
resolution of this Council in reference to the changing of thr gauge
of the T.& Y. R ailway.
Hoved by 1Tr Andrews seconded by l:Ir Knowles that the following accounts ,., ..
be paid and that the J\1ayor issue orders on the Treasurer for the same
and that the seal of the Corporation be attached to this resolution~
namely:-
Hydro-Electric Power Commission (power for March)
Packard Electric Company (2 15 K.V.A. Transformers)
Bell Telephone Co. (rent etc phone 12 :E. L. D.)

Iviayor in issueing orders on the Treasurer for the payment of the fol-
lowing bill be and the same is hereby confirmed and that the seal of
the Corporation be attached to this resolution:

Hoved by Hr Andrews seconded by l'Ir Legge that the communication
from the City Clerk of Toronto dated April 8th acknowledging our no-
tice per resolution in reference to proposed change of gauge of the
Toronto :': York Radial Railway which would render useless our inter-
change switch be received and placed on fy:).e.

Fifth meeting continued.
Leave was asked to introduce a By-law to compel the closing of
Stores on 7ednesday afternoons.
Leave granted and By-law read a first time.

before the Council be read a second and third time this day and that
Rule 33 of By-law No 10 be suspended for that purpose.
Carried.
J3y-law read a second time and Council went into' cormni ttee of the
whole JJ:r Bilbrough in the chair.
Committee rose and reported By-law with blanks filled.
By-law read a third time and passed.
Council then adjourned to me7n..,J.Ionday evening May 3rd.
