MINUTES - Council - 19250831T H I R T E E N T H M E E T I N G 0 F T H E C 0 U N C I L F 0 R 1 9 2 5. The thirteenth meeting of the Council for the year was held in the Council Chamber on Monday evening August 31st. The following members being present n.amely-t-Mayor W:Utot,l Reeve Legge and Councillors .Andrews, Bilbrough, Knowles and Thompson. Communications were received and read from the following persons Francis Hankin & Co. re the waste of water 'oy the general consumer a 1/16 inch opening amounts to !'!49 gallons a day 5943 gallons a weelt 309885 gal- lons a year cost per year $61. 9e the Council have decided to put meters on consumers who are foud. vrasting water. The Hydro-electric Power Commiss- ion giving premission to use their poles for lighting the War Memorial. · The Secretary of the School Boards aslting the Council to levy fift- een thousand dollars for the Publis School and Ten thousand dollars for the High School for 1926. From the Department of Health Spadina House To- ronto saying that the qualifactions of Miss Larkin are Quite satisfactory to the Department. Moved by Mr Andrews seconded by Mr Legge that the following accounts be paid and that the Mayor issue orders on the Treasurer for the same and that the seal of the Corporation be attacged to this resolution. Moved by Mr Bilbrough and sconnded by Mr Andrews that the Vla.terworl!s Committee be instructed to obtain full information as to proper and eq- uit;~.ble rates to be ch3.rged for water to all Commercial users, ~1d to make· a report to this Council at its ne&t meeting. Carried. Leave was asked to introduce a By-law to assess for Co~nty, School ~ld other purposes. Leave gr~1ted ~1d By-law read a first time.
