The fifth meeting of the Council for the year was held in the Council
Chamber on Saturday evening March 7th.
All the members being present
Minutes of, the previous meeting read and confirmed.
Applications for a successor to fill out the uuexpired "term of Mr
James :!!rpthers as Assessor were received from the following persons
namely;-,:' Mr w. T. Andrews, Mr P. M. Faris, Mr James Hill and w. H. Taylor;
Moved by Mr Andrews seconded by Mr Thompson "that the following accounts
be paid and that "the Mayor issue orders on the Treasurer for the a11d
that the seal of the Corporation be attached to this resolution, na.mely :-

Leave was asked to in-troduce a By-law to appoint all Assessor for the
Year 1925 in lieu of Mr James Brothers resigned on account of ill health.
Leave was granted a11d By-law read a firs·t time.
Moved by MrHancock seconded by Mr Andrews that the By-law now before the
Council be read a second and third time this day and that Rule 33 of By-
law No 10 be suspended for that purpose.
Carried.
