MINUTES - Council - 19240619TENTH MEETING OF THE COUNCIL
FOR 1924.
The Tenth meeting of the Council. for the year was held in the
Council Chamber on Tuesday evening June 19th.
The Following members being present Namely:-Mayor Walton, Reeve
Legge and Councillors Andrews, Bilbrough,arfd);'l\Jlblllpson~ o•;..,, '' ;m,
Minutes of the previous meeting read and confirmed.
Moved by Ur L.egge seconded by Mr Andrews.
WHEREAS a Petit:i.on of the owners of the lauds abutting on the
Wellington Street West Highway .where the work herein mentioned is
to be undertaken has been received by the .Council asking for the
work to· be done as a Local Improvement.
AND WHERE.~S the Clerk has certified to the correctness of the.
Petition.
THEREFORE This Council in pun~uance of the said petij;ion do undeP.
take the said work as a Local Improvement and that the Mayor and
Clerk be and they are hereby authorised to enter into an agree-
ment with The Toronto and York Roads Commission and the County of
York for the construction of the said work.
And tha.t the Town Solicitor be and is hereby authorised to prepare
the necessary By-laws under the Local Improvemei1t Act for the said
work. And that the seal of the Corporation be attached to this
resolution, Carried.
Leave was a.sked to introduce a By-law for the purpose of providing
a pavement gre:t.ter in. width than th:t.t built by the County, or specia
construction upon a County road within such Town•
·Leave granted ar1d By-law read a first time.
Moved by Mr Legge seconded by Mr Andrews that the By-law now be-
fore the Council be read :t. second and third time this day and that
Rule 33 of By-law No 10 be suspended for that purpose. Carried.
By-law read a second time ar1d Council went into committee of the
whole Mr Legge in the chair.

By-law read a third time and passed.
Council then adjourned to meet at the call of the Mayor,
