Council Room on TuesO.ay evening April 29th.
All the members being present.
Minutes of the previous meeting read. 3.n0. confirmed..
The Mechanics Hall Commission was he:J.rd. in reference to rep3.iring
and. painting the Hall.
Communic3.tions were received. ;;.nO. re:J.O. from the following oersons
Namely:-Mr W. T. AnO.rews re rep3.iriug walk on Youge Street in front of
his lot. James, Proctor & Redfem re paving Wellington Street West.
Moved by Mr Legge seconded. by Mr Andrews that the following 3.ccount
be p9.id and t.h:J.t the Mayor issue orders on the Treasurer for the same
and that the seal of the Corporation be attached. to this resolution,

Mll.yor in issueing orders on the Tre3.surer for the p3.yment of the fol-
lowing bills be and the s~e is hereby confirmed and that the seal
of the Corporation be attached to this resolution:

Moved by Mr Andrews seconded by Mr Legge that we endoJ;se the recomme
endation of the Mechanics Hul Commission relative to improvements to
the Hul entrance, and that the Council finance the cost, in ex.cess
of the funds at present in the hands of the Commission; the tot:U cost
to the Town not to ex.ceed six. hundred dollars, and that the se:U of the

Corporation be attached to this resolution.

Moved by Mr Bilbrough seconded by Mr. Knowles that a committee composed
of fi;:l!'f..-&ue T. H. Legge, M. L. Andrews and S.C. Taylor be 3.ppointed to confer
with the York County Commission re the building of Pavement on Welling·t;GJ . .

Moved by Mr Hancock seconded by Mr Thompson That Mayor Walton, Reeve
Legge and Councillor Andrews be a committee to interview the three Man-
ufacturers interested in the switching interch<:~nge and if these people
wish the service restired the said committee are instructed to inter-
view both Railw.ays and report to this Council.

Moved by Mr Andrews seconded by Mr Legge that the action of the Ro9.d
and Bridge committee in purchasing the trh.ngul9.r corner 14 feet North
line by 24 feet East line oy 26 feet on angle line from Mr Ch9.rles MGe'7ai
McCabe, for the necessary widening of the Temper!:l.nce and Ransom Street
connection, for the sum of Fifty dollars be approved and that. the sa:U
of the Corporation be attached to this resolution and that 91'1 order
for the p3Jment be issued when deed is delivered, 9l'ld that the Solicitor
be instructed to prepare the necessary By-law apQroving the pl9l'l.

be assessed the sum. of Fifty dollars per 3.1:mumn for water service
from April lst ,'!924,
