TWELFTH MEETING OF THE COUNCIL

The twelfth meeting of the CouncilXW9.s held in the Council
Room Tuesd9.y evening September 25th.
All the members being present, the M3.yor in the chair.
The minutes of the previous meeting read 3.1'ld approved,
Communic9.tions were' received and re9.d from the following persors
N3.111ely :-Mr A Love Se.bre:t;a:f';)P~of the Public School asking the Cou-
neil to raise by tuation fifteen thousand doll3.rs for school
purposes for the ye:J.r 1924, he also asked for ten thousand dollars
for High School purposes for 1924.
The C:undian Red Cross Society re the need of help for J 9.pan.
Briggs, Frost, Dillion & Birks re the west end of Kennedy Street.
Pennock & Cook 9.tld Mr R. A. Fr9.ser re exemption from power rates
while their F9.ctorys were idle.
Mr W9.rd 9.tld Mr Hofl9.tld was heai!din reference the need of rep9.irs
on Kennedy Street.
Moved by Mr Andrews seconded oy Mr Taylor that the following
accounts be paid 9.tld that the Mayor issue orders on the Treasurer
for the S3.111e 9.tld th3.t the seal of the Corporation be attached to
this resolution Namely:-

Leave granted and By_law read a first time.
Moved by Mr Legge seconded by Mr Andrews that the By-law now
before the Council be read a second :u1d third time this day and th·at
Rule 33 of By-law No 10 be suspended for that purpose.
Carried.
