T H E COUNCIL
The tenth meeting of the Council for the year was held in the
Council Room on Monday evening April 3rd.
All the members being present. The minutes of the two previuus
read and confirmed.
Communications were received and read from the following persons
Namely:-Mr JohnkMcMa.hon asking the Council not to let the McMahon
Park for garden purposes. Mr James B Greig re a sign tioard in front
of his property. The Muskoka Free liospi tal for Consumptives re in-
digent patient, Warren Bituminous Paving Co who are prepared to pave
Wellington Street as soon as weather conditions premit, James, Proctor
& Redfern re the paving of Wellington Street :~.nd the construction
of a sewer on Bermpy Street. Mr W H Taylor Sec. Trea.s. of Mechauics
Hall Commission showing a bal!l!JCe in the B!l!lk of $202. 26.
To the Mayor and Council of the Town of Aurora,
Gentlemen your committee of Roads !l!id Bridges would recom-
mend that the following work be done on the Streets of' Aurora this year.
( 1) New four foot ceilll:mt walk on west side of Wells Street south of'
Harrison Avenue -a.oout 140 feet cost $95.
( 2) New f'our foot cement walk on Harrison Avenue north side east of
Wells Street, 480 feet !l!Jd west of Wells Street north side 280 feet
cost $465.
( 3) Cinder crossing on Conn aught Avenue in front of Mrs Heakes house
!l!ld cement walk in front of lot •.
( 4) New 4 foot cement walk on north side of Kennedy Street from
Temperance Street west to Mr Stra.kers house about 1200 feet, also 2
crossit1gs on same Street. $900.
(5) Cinder crossing on George Street opposite Mr Cha.pm!l!JS house $5.
(6) Repair cinder walk on Tyler Street west of George Street both
sides $15.
(7) Six iuch tile drain on Wells Street from High School south to
Metcalf Street with stand pipe on each side of' Wells Street.

(e) Repair west side of Victoria Street north of Mosl.ey Street.
(9) We would recommeud that the ends be cut out of the old bailor at
the Waterworks and it be used as a bridge ou the W3.terworks lot.
(10) Grade George Street east side from Mr G Williams house to Wellin-
gton Street to make it ready for sidewalk next year, cost $15.
( 11) Other rep airs to be made on the recommendation of the Road &
Bridge committee $400.

Moved by Mr Legge seconded by Mr Taylor that the following ac-
counts be paid and that the Mayor issue orders on the Treasurer for
the same and that the seal of the Corporation oe attached to this

Moved by Mr Taylor seconded by Mr Andrews that premission oe granted
to Mr J B Greig to remove the sign on his property, the same being in
a delapidated condition. Carried.
Moved by Mr Bilbrough seconded by Mr Andrews that the tender for
the. Firemans rubber boots of W Hastings of $4.75 per pair, J Naughton
""4. 75 per pair and Jrunes Whimster & Co $4.85 per pair be accepted
and that 15 pairs be given to W Hastings, and J Naughton each aJld 7 p
p3.irs to James Ylhimster & Co 3.nd that the se3.1 of the Corporation be
attached to this resolutiom. Carried.
Moved by Mr Matson seconded by Mr Grey that this Council do hereby
instruct Mr C A Petch to forward a copy of the part of the By-law
showing his duties as Supervisior to 3.11 sal3.ried employees in the
Towns employ. Carried.
Moved by T3.ylor seconded by Mr Andrews thELt the Solicitor be and he
is hereby authorised and instructed to have a new plan prepared for
applicSttion of the crossing over the Grand 'frunk Tracks.
Carried.
Moved by Mr Andrews' seconded by Mr Bilorough that the Clerk be in-
structed to procure the necess3.ry duplicate Electric light books to
safeguard him through monies being collected by his Agents.
Carried.
Leave wa.s asked to il1troduce a a By-l,.w to 3.Uthc;;rise the construction
of additL.mal pavement to that proposed to be constructed by the
Toronto and York Roads Commission on that part of Wellington Street
in the Town of Aurora. between a point where the S3.id Wellington Street
is imtersetced by the eElst limit of Yonge Street to Ross Street as a
local improvement under the provisions of "The Local Improvement Act".
