F 0 R 1 9 2 2,
The eighth meeting ot' the Council was held in the Council Room on
Thursday evening March 16th.
The following members oeing present Namely:-Mayor Sheppard, Reeve
Knowles Councillors Andrews, Bilbrough, Grey, Legge and Matson.
The minutes of the previous meeting read and confirmed.
Communications were received and read from the following persons
Namely:-Mr Chislolm of the Canadian Bank of Commerce re The Positive
Clutch & Pulley Works. Mr E A James Engineer Toronto & York Roads Com-
mission re pavement of Wellington Street. Board of License Com1nission-
ers for Ontario re Hotel business assessment. Mr J V1 Sharpe Provincial
Municipal Auditor re Auditors Report. The Vetrans Club asking for use
of Town Park July }st. Mr Geo F Purdon re transfer of Pool License.
The Ontario Municipal Assocati.on re the introduction of oills in the
Ontario Legislature. Hydro Eiectric Railway Association re the co-
operation of the Town.
Moved by Mr Audrews seconded by Mr Legge that the following accounts
be paid :~.nd that the Mayor issue orders on j::he Treasurer for the same
and that the seal of the Corporation be attached to this resolution,

Moved oy Mr Andrews seconded by Mr Bilbrough that the application
of the Vetra.ns Club for the Town Park on Dominion Day July lst be
gn.nted • Carried.
. Moved by Mr Bilbrough seconded by Mr Andrews that a grant of l!'ifty
Dollars be made to the Aurora Horticultural Society the same to be
used in the beautifying of Aurora • And the seal of the Corporation b
De attached to this resolution. Carried.
Moved by Mr Andrews seconded by Mr Matson that the proposed alter-
ations in the Town Hall to provide adequate a.ccomidation for the
Library as outlinec;l by the pro pert committee at a. proposed cost of
$450.00 be approved and the Committee instructed to proceede with
the work; and that the seal of the Corporation De attached to this
resolution. Carried.
Moved by Mr Knowles seconded by Mr Grey that the Tenders for Rubber
Boots for the Aurora. Fire Brigade oe refered to the Fire Committee
for their recmmendation and report at the next meeting of thils
Council. Carried.

Moved by Mr Matson seconded by Mr Grey that this Council do hereby
instruct the Town Clerk Mr C A Petch to cause to be published as
·adversment in the local paper to read as follows:-
That all Council meetings are free and open to the public as far
as the capacity of the room will allow, and that the Mayor and Council
too extend a v1elcome to ailY townspeople who wish to !l.ttend a11y oi'
these meetings. Carried.
A resolution passed by the Fire Brigade was received from the Sec-
retary asking for a rqise in the Chiefs salary.
Council then adjourned to meet at the call of the Mayor.
