SEVENTH MEETING 0 F. T H E COUNCIL

The seven~h meeting, of ther•@ouncil for the year was held in the
Council Room on Monday evening February 27th.
All the members being present. The minutes of the previous meeting
read and confirmed.
A communi'cation was received from Mr C F Ewers Sec. Treas. of the
Aurora Public Library Board requesting the Council to raise by levy
the sum of $700.00 for the current year.
Moved by Mr Legge seconded by Mr Taylor that the following accounts
oe paid and that the Mayor issue orders on the Treasurer for· the
same and that the seal of the Corporation be attached to this reso-
lution, Namely:-
Northren Electric Co. (insulators etc. )
Toronto & York R. Ry. Co. (material, labor etc.)
St Michaels Hospital (care of Mrs Hettie Smith)
Registrar Births, Marriages & Deaths
Clerk (postage & cleaning Town Hall)
John Bond (groceries for Mrs Smart)
Bawden Pump Co (oal on gasolene pump)

Moved by Mr Taylor seconded by Mr Andrews that the Clerk be and
he is hereby instructed to prepare a list of the encroachments on
the Streets of the Town that the seal of the Corporation be att-
ched hereto. Carried.
Moved by Mr Bilbrough seconded by Mr Andrews that the Solicitor
be and he is hereby authorised and instructed to taKe the necess3.ry
steps to have Mr G W Baldwin remove all encroachments from the Street.
And that the seal of the Corpor3.tion be attached hereto.
Carried.
Moved by Mr M_atson seconded by Mr Knuwl.es ·that this Council do here-
by instruct the Town Clerk to advertise for sale the two Direct,
Current 1!urnprMotors not now oeing found of further use, and that
the prices if any be submitted to this council for 3.pproval.

Moved by Mr Knowles seconded by Mr Grey that the By-law committee oe
and ·they are hereby instructed to report a By-13.W 3.Uthorizing the
transfer of th3.t part of Harrison Avenue h3.Ving a frontage of 66 X
131ft 4 in :~nd adjacent to lot 28 Plan 1201 and that ;t;he se3.1 of the
Corporation be attached hereto. Carried,
Moved by Mr Matson seconded by Mr Knowles that the Council do hereby
instruct the property committee to investigate and report to this
Council a suit3.ble ways a.nd mea.ns of G3.rbage Disposal.
Carried.
Moved by Mr Matson seconded by Mr Grey that the Town Solicitor be
instructed to collect all 3.rrears of Income TaK due this Corporation.
Carried.
Leave was asked to introduce a By-law to appoint a Ta.K Collector.
Le3.ve gr3.nted and By-law read a first· time.
Moved by Mr Andrews seconded by Mr Grey that the By-law nov1 oefore
the Council be read a second and third time this day and that Rule 33
of By-law No 19 be suspended for that purpose.
Carried.
By-law read a second time and Council went into committee of the
whole Mr Taylor in the chair.
Committee rose and reported By-law with blank filled with the name
of Mr J G McDonald.
By-law read a third time and passed.
Leave was asked to introduce a By-law to appoint a Treasurer for
the Town of Aurora.
Leave granted and By-law read a first time.
Moved by Mr Taylor seconded By Mr Andrews that ·the By_law now oefore
the Council oe read a second and third time this day and that Rule 33
of By-law No 10 be suspended for that purpose.
