F 0 R 1 9 2.1.
The eighteenth meeting of the Council for the year was held in the
Council Room on Mouday evening October 3rd.
All the members being present. The minutes of the previous meeting
read and confirmed.
Communications were received ahd read from the following persons
Namely:-The Bell Telephone Co. re 9J'l increase of rates. The Ontario
Municipal Association advising municipalities to oppose the increase
o:t' telephone rates.
Mr Cl9.rk of the Queens Hotel was heard in reference to granting
them a billard license. Mr C L Wilson was hears re payment for inter-
change switch at the Gr!Uld Trunk.
Bills were received from the following persons Namely:-

Moved by Mr Browning seconded by Mr H!Ulcock. that the following acco-
unts be paid and that the Mayor issue orders on the Treasurer for the
same and that the seal of the Corporation be attached to this reso-
lution, Namely:-Toronto & Y R Ry Co 1140.22, Clerk. 17.50 & 5.00,
Bell Telephone Co 5. 21 & 3. 26, M L Andrews 25. 73, Trussed Concrete Co

Moved by Mr Hancock Seconded by Dr Butler that the action of the
Mayor in issueing orders on the Treasurer for the payment of the

Moved by Mr Naughton seconded by Mr Knowles that the ·Municipal
Council of the Corporation .. ,o:IS the Town of Aurora is very strongly
of thiO ppinion that the rate increase asked by the Bell Telephone Co
is entirly uncalled for and does not warrent any increase in rates
under ex;isting conditions and we hereby petition your honorable body
do not grant the increase asked. Carried.
Moved by Mr Naughton seconded by Mr Bilbrougb. that the Clerk be
instructed to prepare a By-law amending By-law No 455. and the corp-
orate seal be attached to tlais resolution. Carried.
Moved by Mr Hancock seconded by Mr Bilbrough that the request of
Mr Graham for Electric Light be granted, the s3.11le to be constructed
at his own expense and that the seal of the Corporation oe at~ached
to this resolution. Carried.
Moved by Mr Knowles seconded by Mr Bilbrough that the M~or and
Clerk be and they are hereby instructed to prepare and forward a
letter to Mr C L Wilson Manager of the Toronto & York Radial Railway
Camp any requesting the said Toronto and York Radial Railway Company
to have their roadbed through the Town of Aurora put in a safe and
proper condition. Carried.
