COUNCIL
The teut;h meeting of the Council for the year was held in the
Council Room on Monday ev.euing May 23rd.
The following members being preseilt Nal]lely 7:~ .. Ma.yor'1la.1dwin,Couu-
cillors Bilbrough, Browning, Butler, Ha.ucock, Matson and Naughton.
Moved by Mr Naughton seconded by Mr Hancock that the Mayor and
Clerk be and they are hereoy instructed to have prepare'd and brought
to the next meeting of the Council a memorial to the J.ate Dr Thomas
Scrivener, late Reeve of this Corporation, the s3llle to be inserted
in the minutes uf this Council at its ne.xt meeting.

Messers J Crockart, T A Hamer a.llll. G -w Heacock appe!l.red before the
Council with !l. petition signed by Mr J3llles Brothers and 612 others
praying that no !l.ctiou be taken by the Council toward changing from
standred time to day-light saving time.
Leave was asked to introduce a By-law to provide for the Nomination
of Reeve to complete the term of Dr Scrivener deceased.
Leave was granted a.nd By-law read a firs·t; time.
Moved by Mr Naughton seconded by Mr Hancock that the iy-law uow
before the Council be read a second and third time this day aud that
Rule 33 of By-law No 10 be suspended for that purpose.
Carried.
By-law re9.d a second time and Council went into committee of the
whole Mr Naughton in the chair.
Committee roae and reported blanks filled.
iy-law read a third time and passed.
Council then adjourned to meet at the call of the Mayor.
