TWENTIETH MEETING 0 F T H E COUNCIL
F 0 R 1 9 1 9.
The twentieth meeting of the Council for the ye:i:r was held in the
. Council Room on Monday December 1st.
The following members being present Namely:-Mayor Bassett, Reeve
Knowles, Councillors Browning, Hill, Reeves, Sisman and Taylor.
The minutes of the previous meeting read and confirmed.
Mr H E Proctor was heard in reference to "The Ontario Housing Act,
1919". Mr L K F9.rr in reference to an error in his 9.Ssessment.
Mr W B Redfern re curbs 3.nd gutters (A E Jupp construction Company's
contract.·
Communic9.tions were received and read from the following persons
Namely:-Canadi3ll Allis Chalmers re price of 4 in cast iron pipe.
Bell Telephone Comp3ny re placing poles on Harrison ;w Edward Streets.
Mr Alex Doner and S D Lloyd re overflow of water from the Gr3lld
Trunk R9.ilway. Mr H E Wallace re rent of Hall for Victory Loan
Concert Oct 29th. Mr W Vlhi t asking for the appointment of 9. local
correspondent to help administer The Combines 9.nd Fair Prices Act.
Mr T Herbert Lennox re opening up of Kennedy Street. Mr H F Welch
re opening a Factory in Auror9..

be Nominated as local correspondent to the Board of Commerce of
Canada. The seal of the Corporation be attached to this resolution.

Twentieth meeting continued.
To the Members of the Council.
VIe your committee appointed to look into the matter of either
closing Temperance Street or deverting same at the north end to
allow J Fleu,rys Sons the use of s;nne to enlarge their Moulding Shop.
Beg leave to report as follows that after looking over the Street
would r.e@()mmem4 the closing of· said street along the Fleury Moulding
·Shop, a distance of 180 feet. And with that end in view have asked
the Solicitor to prepare. a By-law to that affect for your consideration.

Moved by Mr Taylor seconded by Mr Knowles:.,that. the By-law uow before
the Council be read a second and third time this day and that Rule
33 of By-law No 10 be suspended for that purpose.

By-law read a second time and Council went into committee of the
whole Mr Browning in the chair.
Committee rose and reported By-law with blanks filled with the
names of W J Baldwin and James Brothers.
By-law read a third time and passed. I
Council then adjourned to meet at the call of the Mayor.
