The fifth meeting of the Council for the yeg,r was held in the "~
room on Mondg,y evening MOJ.rch 13th.
The following members being present Namely:-Mayor Hald1dn, Reeve
Knowles, Councillors Andrews, Basset, Crock art, Hancock and Ross.
The minutes of the previous meeting were re9.d and adopted.

Moved by Mr Knowles seconded by Mr Ross that the req_uest of
Mechanics Hell committee for a grant of' One Hundred Dollars for
the repair and upkeep of the said Mechanics Hall be and the same
is hereby granted and the Mayor be and he is hereby instructed
to sign ?J:l order on the Treasurer for the same and the seal of -,,
the Corporation be attached to this resolution.

Committee rose and reported By-law.
By-law read a third time and passed,
Leave was asked to introduce a By-law to divide the Town into
polling Sub-divisions.
Leave was granted and By-lflw read a first time.
Moved by Mr Bassett seconded by !>Jir Hancock that the By-law now
before the Council be read a second and thin:; time this day and
that Rule 33 of By-la1·r No 10 be suspended for that purpose. '
