THIRTY FOURTH MEETING OF THE COUNCIL.
FOR 1915.
The thirty fourth meeting of the eouncil 1vas held in ~~ .. council
room on Monday everiing Nov. 22nd.
The follov1ing members being present :-namely Mayor Baldwin, Reeve
Knowles, Councillors Andrevls, Bassett, Cro ckart, &Hancock.
The Mayor in the chair.
The miuutes of the previous meeting were read and adopted.
Communications were received and read from the following persons namely
R.Hacking Sec. Fire Dept. re Fire Alarm.
W. W. Sands City Clerk Kingston re taxing male persolls between 21 and 60
who are not assessed five dollars per year instead of one as they are
not carrying their proportional share of the burden.
-Chas. N. Bond asking premission to use the Tovm Park for Ice Rink in
case of the Covered Rink not running.
Dominion Tactile Press re contribution to the blind.
C. L. Gulley re Fire Alarm.
Ontario Treasury Department acknowledging receipt of $884. 20 in aid
of the British Red Cross Society from-the citizens of the T01m of Aurora.
C. W. Widdifield re water· pipes on Kennedy Street.

Moved by Mr Knowles seconded by Mr. Hancock that the Mayor and Councillor
Bassett be a Committee to get Legal aC::vice on Collis Leather Co,s By-
laws and report at the next meeting of this Council.
Carried.
Moveci by· Mr Knowles seconded by IJ!r. Andrevrs that the Fire and Water Com-
rnittee be and they are hereby instructed to remove the new Bell from
Bell Tower on the Tcivm Hall and place the old Bell in the Tower and
make a test of the same. Also the Committee be and is hereby instructed
to take the nevr Alarm Boxes down, and have the old Boxes properly numbered
and placed. Carried.
Moved by Mr. Kno•iles seconded by Mr Andrev:s that the Clerk be and he is
instructed to have a Telephone placed in the House of Constable Cram
as soon as possible. Carried.
Moved by Mr Crockart Seconded by Mr Hancock that the Clerk be and he is

hereby instructed and authorised to interview the different Rubber
Companys re lo;;est price of two and one half inch Fire Hose, and that
the seal of the Corporation be attached to the. same.

Moved by Mr. Knowles seconded by Mr Andrev1s that the Petition of
Jacob Traviss and Two Hundred and Ninty seven other qualified Voters
of the Tovm of Aurora be received and the prayer of the petition be
granted.
Carried.
Leave was asked to introduce a By-law
Leave granted and By-law read a first time.
Moved by Mr Bassett seconded by Mr Andrews that the By-law nov1 before
· the Council be read a second and third time this day and that rule 33
of By-law No 10 be suspended for that purpose.
Carried.
Council went into Committee Of the whole Reeve Knowles in the chair.
By-lil.w read a second time , Conuni ttee rose and reported By-law with
blanks filled , By-law read a third time and passed.
Leave was asked to introduce a By-law.
Leave granted and By-law read a first time.
Moved By Mr Bassett seconded by Mr Hancock that the By-law now before
the Council be read a second time this day and that Rule 33 Of By-law
No. 10 be suspended for that purpose

Council went into committee of the whole Mr Bassett in the chair.
By-law read a second time , Committee rose and reported By-law as read.
Council then adjourned to meet at the call of the Mayor.
