The twenty first meeting of the Council was held in the Council
Room on Monday evening June 7th.
The follo1iing members were present namely:-Mayor Baldvrin,Reeve
Knowles, Councillors Andrews, Bassett, Crockart, Hancock, and Murray.
The Mayor in the chair.
The minutes of the previous meeting were read and confirmed.
Mr. C.L.Gulley was again heard by the Council in reference to
Fire P·larm Boxes for new system.
Mr Keith of the Warren Bituminous Paving Co. was heard in reference
to paving Wellington Street.
Mr M.Shuleman was again heard re water and electric light on
Kennedy Street.
Mr. J.Furgeson and others were heard reopening George Street
South of Lepper Street, also the continu,.ation of Lepper and Mill Streets.
Communications were received from:-
The City Clerk London Ont. re petitioning the Ontario Goverment
to amend the Colonization Act.
From St Marys Wood Specialty Co. re sale of Boiler.
From the Goverment Boiler Inspector re the inspection of the
Boiler bp Goverment Inspector before sale can be made.
By T. H. Higginson re the manufacture of War Munitions in Aurora.
From the Provincial Association of Fire Chiefs re annual Convention
to be held in Ottawa.
From the Bell Telephone Co. re trimminj;!; tree~~ vA . . .
FRom M~s. T. A. Hamer re the danger of· allow~ngA bJcfcles onwalks.
From Mr. C.W.Mulloy School Inspector re Truancy Act.
From Mr. F. J. McNally re Insurance on Town Hall.

Twenty first meeting continued.
The Fire and Water Committee made the following report.
Your Committee beg leave to report that in their opinion that
to meet the requirments neccessary to operate the Fire Alarm System
it vrill be neccessary to purchase seven new Fire;;J\larm Boxes;, and
they also recommend the purchase of seven Boxes at $65. 00 per Bo·x,
as quoted by the Northren Electric Co. and that they .. be placed.as
follows.
No. 3 on Wellington Street opposite Temprance Street.
No. 4 Corner Cotherine and Yonge.
No.6 II Wellington and Wells.
No 7 " Berczy and Mosley.
No. 8 II Metcalf and Wells.
No. 9 " Tyler and Mill.
No. 12 II Kennedy and Yonge.
Moved by Mr. Bassett Seconded by Mr. Murray that the report of
the Waterworks Committee re Fire Alarm Boxes be and the same is hereoy
accepted and the Mayor is hereby authorised and instructed to sign
an order for the Scme and the seal of the Corporation be attached
to this resolution. Carried.
Moved by Mr. Knowles s~conded by Mr. Murray that the Clerk be
hereby instructed to provide the proper Tax Slips for the Collection
of the Taxes. And t)lat the Taxes may be paid into the Bank of Montreal
or to C. A. Petch at the Council Room in the Town Hall. And the seal
of the Corporation be attached to this resolution.
Carried.
Moved by Mr. Knowles seconded by Mr. Murray that the Mayor be
instructed to have the Town Hall insured for the sum of Four Thousand
Dollars and that the seal of the Corporation be attached to this
resolution. Carried.
Coun~il then adjourned to meet at the call of the Mayor.
