The twelfth meeting of the town Council for 1913 was held on Mo
M.onday Evening June 2nd 1913, the following members being :present
namely, Mayor Baldwin, Reeve Knowles, and Councillors Bassett
Browning, Andrews, Croakart, Hulse, and Sisman.
Minutes of last meeting read and confirmed.
Communications weTe received and read from the following persons;-
Mr Alexander re water for the residence which he is erecting on
George Street.
F. J. McNally reinsurance on Toqn hall.
John McDonald asking for the usual grant of $200 for the Aurora
Public Library.
Mr H. E. Proctor presented a petition signed by himself and 27
others ratepayers on the Wells subdivision asking the Council to
lay cement sidewalks on the streets on that subdivision.
The Chairman of the p~operty Committe reported reaommanding
several needed repairs .in the Lockup, Council Room and Town Hall.
Mr H. E. Proctor presented v. deea of a lot ·vhich he had purchased
for the extension of Connought Avenue to Gurnett Street free of
cost to the 1\luilicipa.li ty.
Bills were received from the following persons;-

The Firebrigade made application for their annual grant of $60.00
for 1912-13

Meeting Continued.
Moved by Mr Sisman seconded. by l\!r Bassett that the request
of the Aurora Public Library for a grant of $200.00 be granted
and that the J>!ayor issue an order on the Treasurer in favour of
of the Treasurer of the Library Board for that amount and that
the searl of the Corporation be attached to this resolution.
Carried.
Moved by Mr Browning seconded by Mr Andrews that the applica
tion of tha Aurora Fire Brigade for their annual grant of $60.00

BE GRANTED AND THAT THE TJ:1Hi!lif.!:f issue an order on the Treasurer
for that amount payable to the Brigade
Carried.
Moved by fllr Knowles seconded by Mr Browning that the report
of the property committee be received and adopted and the committee
be and they are hereby instructed to have the work done as soon
as possible.
Carried.
Moved by Mr Knowles seconded by Mr Andrews that the road and bridge
committee be and they are hereby instructed to put in a ten inch.
tile glazed drain from the stand pipe oppisite J. H. Hutchinsons
house on the south side of Wellington street north to Centre
street then east to the culvert on the same street and that the
residents on the said streets using the said drain be charged part
of the cost and that the seal of the Corporation be attacged to
this resolution.
Carried.
Moved by Mr Bassett seconded by !vir Sisman that the waterworks comm
mittee be be and they are hereby instructed to purchase a)(7000
gallon tank for the storage of road oil from the Thor Iron \Yorks
M Limited for the sum of :~275 and have same,... up on Bcersey ~treet
and that the seal of the Corporation be attached to this resolution.
Carried.
Leave was asked to introduce a bylaw to amend bylaw No 103 of
this Municipality.
Leave granted and bylaw read a first time

~loved by Mr Bassett seconded by !,'lr Sisman that the bylaw now before
the Council be read a second and third time this day and that rule
33 of bylaw Ko 10 be suspended for that purpose and that the seal
of the Corporation be attached to this resolution.
Bylaw read a second time and Council went i!ito committee of the
whole on the same Mr Bassett in the chair.
Committee rose and reported bylaw with blanks filled with the
sum of I~ight hundred and seventy five· dollars and the first day
of May.
Bylaw read a third time and passed.
Council adjourned to meet on 'fuesday evening next •
