The twenty sixth meeting of the Council fer 1912 was held in
the Council Chamber on Monday evening November 4th the following members
bing present; Viz;-Mayer Baldwin, Reeve Knowles and Ceuneillors Basset
Davis and Manning, the Mayor in the ehair.
On metien Mr Chas. H. Wilson and Mr Boyd ef the Teronte and York
Radial Railway were heard in regar« to furnishing Electrical Fewer te
the tewn fer street and domestic lighting also electrical power fer
the factories.
The Clerk laid en the table a petitien signed by Mr H. W. Fleury
and two hundred and eighty ethers praying the Council te submit a
Byl~w te be voted en by the qualified ratepayers te prohibit the ,.,,.... .
sale by retail spiritueus and intoxicating liquors in the Municipality
ef Aurora.
A cemmunioation was received frem the Clerk accempanying the petition
stating that the Petition had been filed with him en Friday November
First, that he had carefully compared the petitien with the Vetere
list and found them correct. He further stated that there were 694
names ef qualified veters fer municipal purposes en the Voters List
and that the names on the petition are far in excess of the required
twenty five per cent ef names en the List.
Meved by Mr Manning seconded by Mr Knowles that the bylaw cemmittee
be aild they are hereby instructed to prepare a bylaw and submit at
the next meeting of this Ceunoil in acoor.dance with the prayr of the
petition of Mr H. W. Fleury and twe hundred and eighty ethers ratepayers
of this Municipality
