The thirteenth meeting of the town Council was held on monday
evening May 13th, 1912/ the following members being present;-namely
Mayor Baldwin, Reeve Knowles and Councillors Bassett, Browning, Davis
Manning and Mi tahell. Mayor Baldwin in the chair.
Minutes of last meeting read and confirmed.
Communications were r?oeived and read from ;-
Richard Taylor asking the use of the small hospital tent for the season
John McMahon, asking the council to adopt a plan of a portion of his
property on Catharine Avenue.
Walter Collis asking the Council to adopt a plan of property recently
laid out on the Staples Farm.
Tenders for street watering were received from J. J. Dunning and 1.
W. Banbury for watering Yonge, \'/ellington and E~osley streets as
designated by the bylaw governing the same, the former for fifteen
dollars per week the latter for twenty dollars per week.
R petition was received from Jacob Peterman and thirteen others.
preying the Council to forbid the open stud horse stand at the Royal
Hotel.
Bills were received from the
Toronto and York Radial Railway,r';freight on pipes $0.70

Moved by Mr Mitchell seconded by Mr Bassett that the following accounts
be :paid that the Mayor issue orders on the Treasurer for the same and
that the seal of th~ Corporation be attached to this resolution

Moved by Mr Knowles seconded by 1~r1J Manning that the Clerk notify Mr
Taylor that this Council cannot let the tent for any other purpose
than housing contagious diseases.
Carried.
Moved by Mr 'Davis seconded by Mr Manning that the petition of TJr J.
Peterman be accepted by this Council and that the Chief be and he is
hereby instructed to serve Mr O'Leary with .a written notice that he
must abate the nui$1-noe complained of namely an open stud horse stand.
and that the seal of the CQrp.oration be attached to this resolution.

J. Dll1Uli:ng flflr watering the streets in Aurora covered by bylaw for
Fifteen Dlilll.ars per week be and the $ame is hereby aocepted and. that
the contract be u:nder the direction of the chail'lllan of the Water Works
and that the seal of the Corporation be attached to this resolution.

Moved by Mr Mitchell seconded by Mr Bassett that the Clerk is hereby
instructed to collect all license fees for Livery and Moving pistures
shows carrying on business within this Corporation and in default of
payment within five days .. iXBI. after notice is given that proceedings
will be taken against the offenderi as provided by the bylaws governing
the same.

Moved by Mr Mitchell seconded. by Mr Manning that the Mayor be instruc
ted to give an option on the Town hall property for two months for the
sum of $7ooo the same to be subject to the approval of the ratepayers.

The applications of Mr McMahon and TIIr Collis were laid over until
the next meeting of this Council.

A communication was received from Mr Birchard re the elictric light
ing of the streets in town;~
Moved by !~r Knowles seconded by Mr Manncing that the "Electric Light
Committee be and they are hereby instructed to meet mr Birchard re
lighting Contract with the town of Aurora and report at the next meeting
of this Council:
Carried.
