and Staples. The Mayor in the Chair.
Minutes of last meeting read and confirmed.
A cownunication was received from the Positive Clutch and Pulley Works
Company in regard to taking .over that portion of Becrzy Street south
of Metcalf' Street.

Moved by Mr Bassliltt seconded by Dr Scrivener that the following accounts
be paid that the Mayor sign orders on the Treasurer for the same
and that the seal of the Corporation b€ attached to this resolution;-

Moved by Mr Knowles seconded by Mr Steele that the Mayor and Councillors
Bassett and ~crivener be a Committee to ascertain the advisability of
this Council passing a Building By-Law and report atvthe next meeting
of thli:s Council
Carried.
Moved by Dr Scrivener seconded by Mr Bassett that the Clerk be and Is
hereby instructed to write the Grand Trunk Railway requesting them to
place electric alarm bells on '1161llington Street Crossing and on Yonge
Street south, also request them to repair the drain on Wellington
and that the seal of the Corporation be attached to this resolution.
Carried.
Leave was asked to introduce a bylaw to borrow money to meet the
current expenditure of the Municipality until such time as the taxes
are paid.
Leave granted and By.Law read a first time
Moved by Mr Knowles seconded by J,Ir Staples that the bylaw now before
the Counoil be read a ,second and third time this day and that· rule 33
of bylaw No 10 be suspended for that purpose.

Bylaw read a second time and Council went into committee of the
whole on the same Dr Scrivener in the chair
Committee rose and reported bylaw with blanks filled.
Bylaw read a third time and passed

be· and they are hereby authorized and instructed to sell the Positive
Clutqh and Pulley Works Debentures also the Cement .. Sidewalk debentures
for the very best price obtainable and the said liayor and Treasurer are
hereby authorized to sign thw said debentures and affix the Corporate
seal thereto and when the sale is completed to deposite the proceeds
in the Bank of ?:1ontreal at Aurora to the credit of thms Corporation
