The twentieth meeting of the town Council was held monday evening
August 28th, in the Council Chamber the following members being present;-
Mayor Baldwin, :Reeve Knov:les and Councillors Bond,. ixxxxRt:X Bassett,
1Iurray I Scrivener' Steele' and Staples. The Tiiayor in the chair.
]clinutes of last meeting read and confirmed.
A communication was received fron the Secretary of the !Iigh School
Board e.all!1Losing a request frol!l the High School board for the Council
to cause an assement of $2500 for maintenance of the High School also
one from the :Public School axkixgBoadr asking the Council to assess
for ~4200. For the maintenance of the Public School•
A communico.tionwas also received from the Colonial Engineering Co
of Ilontreal in regard to furnishing light and power for this municipality
Uoved by Mr Knowles seconded by Murray that the electric J.ight Commi
ttee and they are hereby instructed to prepare an agreement withthe
Colonial Engineering Conpany Limited of Montreal for the lighting
and furnishing power for the town of Aurora said agreement to be subr:li ttd
to this Council for approval.
Carried.
Moved by l:r Bassett seconded by Dr Scrivener that the water works
committee be and they are hereby instricted to lay a 4 inch main along
Berczy Street from T Sisman Shoefactory to the :Positive Clutch and
:Pulley Works ·Linli ted and put a hydr11nt at the corner Metcalf ana Berc~::y
streets and that the seal of the Corporation be attached to this reso
lution.
