The first meeting of the Council for the year I9IO was held in the
Council Room on iC:onday January loth a.t II. o'clock in the forenoon
The following members presented themselves and after signing
the declarations of qualification and office took tl1eir seatsj-nmr;ely

The Clerk introduced the Eayor to1•. the Council and business was at
once proceeded with.
A Communication was received from the Clerk giving the result of the
vote on ::-cocal Ortion;-as follows, two hundred and forty three votes
polled for it a..nd two hundred and nine against the bylccw and fourteen
spoiled ballotts.

is hereby instructed to.:proceed at once to collect all unpaid taxes.

Councillors ToV\'nS and the r:ever ·be a Committee to strike the standing
Committees fo the current year.
Carried.
Lec..ve was asked to introduce bylaws to appoint Auditors to audit
the l:unicipal and "'.chool accounts for 1909/ .il. Local :Board of Ileal th
,\. High "chool ",'rustee, and Borrow money to meet the current expenditure
until thB taxes are paid for the Current year.
Leave granted and Byla\'\'s read a first time.
Moved by ?.:r Knowles seconded by T.IrTowns that the bylaws now before
the Council be read a second and third time this day that rule 33
of bylaw No IO be suspended for that purpose
Carried.
Bylaws read a second time and Council went into COJmnittee of the
whole on the same Ileeve Knowles in the,, chair.
Cornmi ttee rose and repol"ted bylaws with blanks filled and
recommended the third reading elf the bylaws
Bylaws read a third time and passed.
Council adjourned to meet on r:onda.y evening January I7th •
