The seventh meeting of the Council for I9IO was held on 1ionday
evening May 2nd when the following members were present/-namely,
Mayor Baldwin, Reeve Knowles and Councillors A. W. Brodie, W. J. Basset
A. Murray, Dr Scrivener, J.W. Stephenson, and W, C. Towns.
Minutes of last meeting read and confirmed.
Communications were received and read from;-
National Iron Works asking for orders for iron pipes &ct.
The :grandt Map company offering to execute a map of the Town for $220
Leo Kennedy offering to sell his lot between Kennedy and Reuben Streets
to extend Temperance street to Kennedy Street
Bills were received from the following persons;-
Grand Trunk ·Railway, rent of ground
Toronto & York R, R¥, freight
Robert H. Taylor, glazing in Council Room
James Robertson & Co, Pipes &ct

A petition was received from the residents on the East side of Victoria
street praying that the new cement sidewalk be laid on the west side
of the trees on that street. f
Mr Pipher was heard regarding the opening of Temperance street from
Reuben Street to lennedy Street.
Moved by Mr Bassett seconded by Dr Scrivener that the following bills
be paid, that the Mayor issue orders on the Treasurer for the same
and that the seal of the Corporation be attached to this resolution

Seventh Meeting continued
The committee appointed to investigate the oiling of the streets to
lay the dust reported they had ttsited Toronto where it is used and
were satisfied with what they had seen and would recommend is use
here.
Moved by Mr Knowles seconded by lur Towns that the f.ollowing be a
Committee re the opening of Temperance Street from Reuben To Kennedy
street;-namely ThevMayor and Councillors Brodie and Stephenson and
that they report at the next meeting of this Council
Carried.
Moved by Mr Brodie seconded by iiir Murray that this Council do reccom
end the appointment of Mr Fisher Dunham amd Mr Jos. W. He.lmon as
County Constables and that a copy of this resolution be forwarded to
His Bon. Judge 7linchester to have the appointment made

Leave was asked to introduce a bylaw to appoint a Court of Revisin
Leave granted and By-Law read a first time.
Moved by Mr Bassett seconded by r.ir Brodie that the By-Law now before
the Council be read a second and third time this day and that rule 33
of By-Law Ho IO be suspended for that purpose

on the same Mr Bassett in the chair.
Committee rose and reported bylaw with blanks filled.
By-Law read a third time and passed
Council adjourned to meet at the ca:ll of the Mayor.
