MINUTES - Committee of the Whole - 19890316MINUTES TOWN OF AURORA COMMITTEE OF THE WHOLE MEETING NO. 14-89 Boardroom, Town of Aurora Administrative Offices Thursday, March 16, 1989 8:27 p.m. COUNCIL MEMBERS IN ATTENDANCE: Councillor Ochalski in the Chair, Mayor West, Councillors Jones, Mcintyre, Pedersen, and Timpson Councillors Stewart, McKenzie and Weller absent on Vacation. STAFF MEMBERS IN ATTENDANCE: Clerk, Deputy Clerk, Director of Planning. C.A.O. absent on Vacation. DECLARATION OF CONFLICT OF INTEREST There were no disclosures of Interest under the Municipal Conflict of Interest Act, 1983. APPROVAL OF AGENDA #1. Moved by Mayor West Seconded by Councillor Jones THAT the content of the Agenda as circulated by the Clerk's Department be approved as outlined herein. CARRIED ADMINISTRATION/CLERK'S/PERSONNEL CORRESPONDENCE AND PETITIONS Town of Newmarket Invitation to Ma~or and Members of Council, to the Official Opening of the Newmarket Mun1cipal Office, Monday, April 10, 1989 at 7:30 p.m. #2. Moved by Councillor Jones Seconded by Councillor Timpson THAT the correspondence from the Town of Newmarket be received and a bouquet of flowers be forwarded to the Municipality on behalf of the Mayor and Council. CARRIED Aurora Agricultural Society and Aurora Horse Show reguest for permission to operate refreshment mar9uis at the Aurora Horse Show June 2 3, and 4, and to operate a beer margu1s dur1ng the Aurora Agricultural Fair ~une 10 and 11 #3. Moved by Councillor Jones Seconded by Councillor Timpson THAT permission be granted to the Aurora Agri cul tura 1 Society to operate a refreshment marquis at the Aurora Horse Show on June 2, 3, and 4, and to operate a beer tent during the Aurora Agricultural Fair June 10 and 11. Moved by Councillor Timpson Seconded by Councillor Pedersen THAT the change of name from "Fescue Way" to "Quail Ridge Drive" be approved for use in the Beacon Hall Development. CARRIED Sitin~ Task Force, Ottawa, invitation for Council or staff member to attend a reg1onal information session #5. Moved by Councillor Timpson Seconded by Mayor West THAT two members of Council be authorized to attend the information seminar together with staff as required. CARRIED STAFF REPORTS CL89-010-083 -Canada Day #6. Moved by Councillor Jones Seconded by Councillor Pedersen THAT the Town of Aurora Municipal Offices observe Monday, July 3, 1989 as Canada Day. CARRIED PLANNING STAFF REPORTS PL89-022-084 -Proposed Plan of Condomi ni urn, Part of B 1 ocks 58 and 59, Registered Plan M-2034; Highland Green Investments #7. Moved by Councillor Timpson Seconded by Councillor Pedersen That proposed plan of condominium 19CDM-88042 be recommended to the Region of York for draft approval subject to the following conditions being met. 1. Approval shall relate to the draft plan of condominium prepared by Schaefer & Reinthaler Limited being Job. No. 86-454 sheets 1 through 8 inclusive, revised November 7, 1988. 2. The owner shall enter into one or more condominium agreements with the Town of Aurora, agreeing to satisfy all conditions, financial or otherwise, as set by the Town of Aurora. 3. The owner shall pay cash in lieu of parkland, amount not exceeding 5% of the value of the land. CARRIED NEW BUSINESS PW89-015-085 #8. Moved by Mayor West Seconded by Councillor Timpson' THAT the Preliminary Survey of the CNR 1 ands prepared by Stephen J. McCasey and Associates Incorporated be received as information. CARRIED ADJOURNMENT #10.
