BY-LAW TO FIX THE DATE FOR NOivUI'iA~'IOH 0~' CAHDIDATES AHD FOR THE ffiLLDJG.
WHE:HE:AS by Section 65, Subsection (1) of The lihnicipal
Act, R.s.o. 1937, as amended by Section 14°~he lflUnicipal Amendment Act,
~
1946, the Council may by By-Law passed not later than the 1st d~ of November,
fix the day for the meeting of the electors for the nomination of Candidates
for Council and any Local Board or Conunission and the day for the polling
between ftiday preceding the last Mond~ in November and the 1st day of
January, except a Sund~ and the 24th, 25th and 31st days of December, pro-·
vided that the day fixed for nominations is at least fourteen days prior to
the day fixed for pOlling. _
Therefore the Municipal Council of The Copporation of the
Town of Aurora enacts as follows:
1. That the meetings for the nomination for all candidates for
the flhnicipal Council and for the Aurora Public School Board and for The
Hydro Electric Commission of the Town of Aurora shall be held in the Town
of Aurora, at such place as shall be designated by notice in th&-Aurora--Banner, /};;, ~..~-f!~ (l rJj;i ~ -~w-~ ll I
on the J.asLMenday ~er ~ at 7.30 o'clock in the afternoon. i\o1
z. That, if more candidates are nominated for an office than are
to be elected, th~eturning Officer shall adjourn the proceedings at such
meeting until the~d Monday in DecembeiJfollowing such nomination meeting
on which day an election shall be held and the polls opened in each polling .
