BYLAW - Strike the Rates fo rthe Year 1946 - 19460506 - 94046,--- i ' I l I; BY-LAW NUMBER 7110 of the MUnicipal Corporation of the Town of Aurora A BY-LAW ro STRIKE THE RATES IN THE TOWN OF AURORA IDR THE YEAR 1946. WHEREAS estimates have been prepared showing that the sum of $66,388.22 is required to be raised for the lawful purposes of the Corporation of the Town of Aurora for the year 1946. ANDWHER~S there is required to qe raised for special purposes the sum of $3415.80 for sewerage debentures under the Local Improvement Act and the sam of $4184.70 for oiling certain streets. J{\'-1~0 AND WHEREAS, in arriving at the said requirements of $56,388.22, consideration has been given to The Provincial Subsidy to l~icipalities of one Mill and to an amount equal in total to $35,954.53 received by the respective. / (} School Boards from the Provincial Government towards educational costs to be used~~ for the relief of taxation on real estate, as well as revenue accruing from other source so AND \VHER~S the total assessable property within the Corporation is as follows: Land $438,336.00; Buildings $1,150,320; Business $71045.00. There shall be struck, rated, levied and collected a special rate of two cents per foot frontage against all properties fronting on streets which are to be dressed with oil, the said rate being required to produce the sum of 1 () $484.70 with which to pay the cost of oiling the said streets. .~~ The said rates ·may be paid, without discount or penalty, at any time ·after the 15th day of August, l946,and on or or before the 14th day of December,. A n • 1946. f.J'J • .Arry ratepayer who shall pay the whole or any port ion of the said rate.s on or before the 15th day of May, 1946, shall be allowed a discount of two per- cent on the amount so paid and any ratepayer who shall pay the whole or any par- tion of the said rates after the 15th day of lf.tay,l946, and on or before the 15th day of August, 1946, shall be allowed a discount o~ one percent on the amount paid, That the statutory penalty and interest shall be charged on all of the rates not paid at the 14th day of December, 1946 and such penalty and interest shall be levied and collected by the Collector or Treasurer as if the same had been originally illlposed and formed part of the said rate. The Clerk shall prepare and delive.r the Collector's Roll to the Collect- or on or before the 1st day of October, .1946. The Collector is hereby authorized to mail or cause to be mailed the notice provided for by Section 109 of the Assessment Act to the address of the sidence or place of business of the persons to whom such notice is req.uired to re.-I n beM · given. The Collector shall, if any instalment of taxes remains uppaid for more than fourteen days after the date provided for payment thereof, forthwith proceed ;.· ·, to collect by distress or otherwise, under the provisions of the Statute in that behalf, all such taxes so in default, together with the pel:'centage thereon hereby imposed for such default, The Collector shall return his Roll to the Treasurer on or before the lst day of February, 1.947, and furnish the Treasure:!' thereupon all such statements of taxes unpaid and otherwise as are required by the Asse·ssment Act, ~ .. _/ Dated at the Town Hall, Aurora, this '1tf day of May,l946 Passed at the Town Hall,Aurora, this (1# day of cciay ,1946 MAYOR ~
