F I R S T ,M E E T I N G 0 F T H E C 0 U N C I L
F 0 R 1 9 1 6.
The first meeting of the Council for the year 1916 was held
in the Council Room on Monday January 3rd at 11 o 1 clock in the
forenoon.
The following members presented themselves aBel after signing
the declarations of qualificatioH and office took their seats.
Namely:-
W. J. Baldwin, Mayor
W.J.Knowles Reeve
Councillors
w. T. Andeews
W.J.Bassett
James Crockart
T.H.M.Hulse
A. E. Hancock
J. c. Ross
The Clerk introduced the Mayor to the Council and busiHess
was at once proceeded with.
A Communication was received from the ·Clerk giving the result
of the vote on Local Option:-as follows,four hundred and twenty
six votes for it and two hundred and thirty four against the By-
law.
Communication from Leamington re remuneration to Municipal
Councils foE their services.
Frank Hart asking for refund of Income Tax.
Bills were received from:-

John Scott.
By-law read a. third time and passed.
Leave was asked to introduce a By-law to appoint a High School
Trustee for 1916, 1917 and 1918.

and Rule 33 of By-law No 10 be suspended for that purpose.

the Council be read a second and third time this day ax1d that Rule
