The fourteenth meeting of the Council was held in the Coutlcil room on Thursday March l8jl;h. The following members wer·e present :-namely MaliJor Baldwin Reeve Kno•1les, Cuuncillors Andrews, Crockart, and Hancuck. The Mayor in the chair. The minutes ui' the last meeting vrere read and adopted. A communication was received from Mrs Dickenson and a1.so one from Mr. W. T. Andrews. Moved by Mr. Knowles seconded by Mr. Andrews that the Clerk be and he is hereby instructed to take the regular legal steps to ~hend the men ~rho and families and"' them brought back to have deserted their wives Purora. Carried. Moved by Mr. Knowles Seconded by Mr. Hancock that the request of Councillor Andrews be refered to the Waterworks committe-ec. Carried. Moved by Mr. Knowles Seconded by Mr. Andre~rs that the Waterworks Committee be and they are hereby instructed to interview the Collis Leather Co. regarding the settiement of their water rates. Carried. Moved by Mr. Crockart Seconded oy Mr. Hancock that the Property committee be instructed and authorised to purchase a filing cabinet for use of the Clerk. Carried. Moved by Mr. Crockart Secouded by Mr. Hancock that the Clerk be instructed to advertise the Waterworks and Electric Light debentures amounting to $8000. in the Globe and Mail / ,· one insertion in each paper. Carried. ,._, Moved by Mr. Knov11es Seconded by Mr. Andre\>'S that the Mayor, Reeve, Counci~lors Andrews and Hancock be a committee, to dispense charity":to those realy in need, and the seal of the Corporation be attached to this resolution.
