The twenty-fourth meeting of the Council was held on
Thursday evening December 17th, members present, Mayor Baldwin,
Reeve Knowles, !louncillors Bassett, Caul ter, Crockart, Murray
end Sisman.
Moved by Mr. Sismen seconded by Mr. Crockart that the
following accounts be paid and that the Mayor issue orders on the
Treasurer for the payment of the same.

Moved by Mr. Knowles seconded by Mr. Coulter that the
Clerk be and he is hereby instructed to have 200 copies of the
Financial Statement, as pr·epared ·by the Town Treasurer printed
for the benefit of the ratepayers. CARRIED.
Moved by Mr. Crookart seconded by Mr. Coulter that
the petitioners re the John Ferguson dismissal by the High School
Board be notified that in the opinion of this Council they should
present the petition to the High School Board and that the Clerk
be and is hereby instructed to notify the said petitioners.

Leave vvas asked to introduce a Bylaw to appoint a
Town Clerk in place of S. H. Lundy, resigned.
Leave was granted and Bylaw read a first time.
Moved by Mr. Bassett seconded by Mr. Crockllrt that the
Bylaw now before the Council be read a second and third time this
day and that rule 33 of Bylaw No. 10 be suspended for that purpose.
The Yea's and Nay's we,re ealled for on this resolut.ion
and resulted as follows:-Yea's-Bassett, Coulter, Crockart and
Knowles. Nay's;-Murray andSisman.
The Msyor declared the resolution Carried.
Moved by Mr. Bassett secondedby Mr. Knowles that the
Co unci 1 go into Committee of the whole on the Bylaw. Carried.

Twenty-fourth Meeting continued.
Council went into Committe of the whole with Mr. Coulter
in the Chair.
Committee rose and reported the Bylaw with blank filled
with the name of Ch!',rles Albert Petch.
The By-law was given its third reading and passed.
The Council then adjourned.
