The Twenty-third meeting o£ the Town Council was held on Monday Evening, Dec ember 14th. Members present, Mayor Baldwin Reeve Knowles, Councillors Bassett, Coulter, Crockart, Hulse Murr·ay and Sisman. Major McColl of the Governor General's Body Guards was hears regarding grant of Hay by the Town. Com:nunicati0ns were received from:- Canadian Allis-Chalmers Company, regarding test of turbine pumps at Waterworks. s. H. Lundy, tendering his resignation as Town Clerk. The Hydro Electt±c Power Commission, re passing of by-law appointing electrical inspector. A. resolution which was pased at a meeting of Citizens last week was presented as follows:- Moved by John B Spurr, seconded by W. J. Brown, that we petitioners to the Council 01 the Municipalit;/ of Aurora asking your honorable body on a hearing of Mr Ferguson, in reference to th's recent dismissal as Principalof the High School Board and other irregularities, having heard Mr Ferguson's charge, that the dismissal was without cause and premeditated, before he was given a hearing, and in the absence of the Chair- man and members of the High School Board 'from this meeting, we respectfully petition your Council no1•; i.n Session to resolve that the County Judge be asked to investigate the matter; Moved by Mr J, Sisman, seconded by James Crockart, that the follJWing accounts be paid and th<: t the Mayor iEsue orders on the TreasurEr fBI the payment of the same and that the seal of the corporation be attached to this resolution. Gould, as it was an error in his assessment, and that the seal of the Corporation be attached to this resolution. CARRIED. Moved by Mr Knowles, seconded by Mr Murray, that the action of the Mayor in ordering one car load of hay f~r the Governor· General's Body Guard, l1~ and the same is liens by confirmed, and the Mayor is hereby instructed to sign an order on the treasurer for the amount to pay for the same, not to exceed $200.00, and that the seal of the corporatian be attached to this resolution. CARRIED. I i I I j J Twenty-Third Meeting Cont'd Moved by Mr Bassett, seconi!ed by Mr Crockart, that the request of Mr Matson, re use of electric light poles on Kennedy Street west for telephone purposes, therefore be it resolved that they be allowed to use the same st a rental of $1.50 per pole, per year, and they assume all responsibility if using same and that the seal of the corporation be attached to thls resolution.
