The first meeting of the Council for 1914 was held in the Council
Room on Monday January 12th, at 11 o'clock in the forenoon.
The Following Members presented themselves and signed the
necessary declarations of Office and took their seats.

The Clerk int.roduced the Council to t:Q.e Mayor and the business
was proceeded with •
The Clerk reported that he had held a vote on the Public
Utilities Bylaw .as directed on December
which resulted as follows.
North Ward, for the bylaw 33,

Leave was asked to introduce a Bylaw to appoint Auditors to
audit the Uunicipal and School accounts for 1913.
Leave granted and bylaw read a f±rst time
Moved by Mr Sisman seconded by Mr Hulse that the bylaw now
before the Council be read a second and third time this day and
that rame 33 of bylaw No 10 be suspended for that purpose
Carried
Bylaw read a second time and Council went into comi:Jittee of
the whole on the same Mr Knowles in the chair.
Committee rose and. repo:tted bylaw, with blanks filled with the
names of Charles Clard and Robert Reynolds.
Bylaw read a third time and passed.
Leave was asked to introduce a bylaw to appoint a mEmber of
the Local Board of·Health.
Leave granted and bylaw read a first time.
Moved by Mr Bassett seconded by Mr Crockart that the bylaw
now before the Council be read a seconf and third time this day
that rule 33 of bylaw No 10 be suspended for that purpose.
Carried
Byl!J.wread a second time and Council went into committee of
the whole on the same ~ilr Hulse in the chair.
Committee rose and reported blank filled with the name of
W. H. Birchard.
Bylaw read a third time and passed.
Leave was asked to introduce a bylaw to borrow money to meet
the current expenditure of the i'&unicipali ty until the taxe.§ are
Collected.
Leave granted and-bylaw read a first time.
Moved by Mr Crockart seconded by Mr Bassett that the Bylaw now
before the Council be read a second time this day and that rule 33.

wing bills be paid that the Mayor issue orders on the treasurer
for the same and that the seal of the Corporation be attached to
this resolttion

Reeve, and Councillors Sisman/ Murray, and Hulse be a commijltee to
strike the standing committees for the year.
Carried.
Illoved by Mr Knowles seconded by lvlr Murray that the bylaw com
mitte be and they are hereby instructed to report a bylaw at
the next meeting of this council to amend Bylaw No 344 of this
council·
Carried.
