THE C 0 U N C I L
The Twenty-second meeting of the Council was hwld in the Council
Room on Thursday Even~ng November 20th, 1913 the following
members being present, viz Mayor Baldwin, Reeve Knowles and
Councillors Andrews, Bassett, Browning Crockart and Sissman.
Minutes of the last three meetings read and confirmed.
A communication was received. and read from R. P. Coil.lson of
Stouffville asking for a contribution for the childrens Aid Society
Bills were received from the following persons;-
Jones-Manville Comp, roofing material
Count~ Registrar, registering Byl~ws
J. C. Querrie, repairing
Mail Printing Co, advertising tenders
Dominion Guarantee Co, bond for collector
James ~~imster & Co, canvass for sidewalk
W. J. C.oul ter, stove for market hall
J. Fleurys Sons, balance of ass electric
Norman Eade sundries
A. Murray, canvass for sidewalk
Hagersville Contracting Co, stone
Bert Lloyd, work on road

Application was made by Mr Andrews to change his waterpipe leading
to his dwelling from the water works instead of from the main.
Moved by Mr Bassett seconded by Mr Sisman that the request of
Mr Andrews 'l!tll ~!flil!d re taking water off the pipe at the Water Works
be andthe same is hereby referred to the water Works Committee
with power to deal with the matter.
Carried.
The Committee to whom the matter of the application of Mr A.
E. Machells for payment for death of horse by being killed with
an electric ·live wire was referred reported recommending 1;he·
payment of $150.00 to Me Machell.

Moved by lilr Sisman seconded by rur Crockart that ;!;he following
accounts be paid that the Mayor issue orders on the ~reasurer for
the same and that the seal of the Corporation be attached to t"lis
resolution, Viz

Moved by Mr Crockart seconded by Mr Browning that the Ma;)lor do
sign an order on the Treasurer in favour of Mr A. E. 11achell for the
sum ot One Hundred and Fifty Dollars for horse killed while in the
employ of this Corporation and that the seal of the Corporation be
attached to this resolution.

Moved by Mr Bassett seconded by ~r Sisman that the Clerk be and
he is hereby authorized and instructed to levy on Local improvement
for Water Mains frontage only and that the Corporation bear the expense
of laying same along the side of property.
Carried.
Lioved by Mr Knowles seconded by lir Sisman that this Corporation
hereby Agree to pay one half the cost of the Cement sidewalk on the
side of the corner lots lying and being in that part of the Munici
pali ty under J,ocal Improvement Byelaws and that the seal of the cor
poration be attached to this resolution.

Twenty Second Meeting Continued.
Moved by Mr Knowles seconded by Mr Andrews that the Clerl be and
he is hereby authorized to advertise by poster and in the Banner for
Fifty Toise of Stone to be delivered as directed by Town Foreman DUl'lham
said stone to be delivered by April First 1914/ and that the seal of
the Corporation be attached to this resolution.
Carried.
Movect By I\tr Knowles seconded by Mr Sisman that the Mayor be and he
is hereby authorized and instructed to sign an order on the Treasurer
in favour of the Aurora Electric Light Company for the sum of $4 ·000
Four Thousand Dollars and $50.00 interest total $4.050.00 as per
Agreement dated Fll.arch 1st 1913 between the Aurora Electric Company
and the Corporation of Aurora and that the seal of the Corporation be
attached to this resolution.
Carried.
Leave was asked to introduce a bylaw to appoint a DeputJJY Treasurer
Leave granted and Bylaw read a first time.

Bylaw read a second time and council went into committee of the
whole on the same lilr Sisman in the chair.
Committee rose and reported bylaw filled with the name of Mr R. N.
Bell.
Bylaw read a third time and passed.
Council adjourned to meet at the call of the liiayor.
