The elevemth meeting of the Counvoil was held on Eonda.y evening
April 22nd the following members being present;-Viz Illayor Baldwim
Reeve Knowles .. and councillors Brownmng, Bassett, Conover, Davis, Nannig
and Mitchell. The Iiiayor in the chair.
Minutes of last meeting read and confirmed.
Communications were received and read from
Young & McEvoy, Re Collis Leather Company Bonus Bylaw
w. C. Widdifield, Re Collis J~eather Company Agreement. with the Town
Bills were received and read from
J. Jl'leury's Sons, grates for furnace at waterworks

A bill was received from Charles Robinson amounting to ~~50 .00 damages
to horse from alleged defect in drain.
Mr Lennox was heard in regard to the Town granting assistance to the
i'ositive Clutch and Pulley 1\'orks Company to complete their buildings here
and move their ·plant here.
The Agreement :wxs between the Collis Leather Company and the Town was
presented to the Council signed py the proper offices of that Company
Mr H. E. Proctor, on behalf of the purchasers of the Staples Farm
presented the plan of the property surveyed into lots on the farm and
asked the Council to a.ccept the streets laid out by the plan.
Moved by Er Mitchell seconded by r.:r Davis that the following bills
be paid that the Eayor sign orders on the Treasurer for the same and
the seal of the Corporation be attached to this resolution;-

Eleventh Meeting Continued.
Moved by Mi; Knowles seconded by L.'ir Bassett that the claim of Charles
Robinson amounting to $50.CO for damages alledged to have been receive
through a defective drain on Yonge Street be not entertained upon the
following gnounds, lst that the Council does not admit any liability
on its merrits. 2nd That the notice to the Council of the accident
was not served within the time provided for by the Municipal Act.

between the Collis'Leather Company and this Cor:roration dated the fourth
day o.f ]larch 1912 be and the same is hereby accepted by this CorJ:loration
and that the Mayor and Clerk be ana thc~T are hereby authorized to sisn
the same and cause the eea.l of the Corpor~tion to be attached thereto
and that.the sael of the Corporation be attached to this resolution

a committee to wait on the Positive Clutch and P~lley works Company
and the l~anager 111r Chisholm of the Canadian Bank of Commerce Jarvis.

next meeting of this Council.

bonus of ~10.000 to the Collis l.eather Company b:e now read a third time
and. passed and that the sael of the Corporation be attached to this
resolution.

Moved by Mr Browning seconded by l.ir Conover that the Clerk be and he
is hereby authorized and instructed to have the bylaw gran tang a
bonus of :~10.000 to the Collis Leather Company registered at once in
the Registrary office of North York also the Agreement of the said
Collis J,eather Company and this Corporation dated J,larch Fourth 1912.
Carried.
