~ The eighth meeting of the Council was geld in the Council Room on
Monday evening April 1st, the following Members being present;-viz
Mayor Baldwin, Reeve Knowles and Councillors Bassett, Bro~~ing, Davis
Manning and Mitchell. The Mayor in the chair.
Minutes of the last two meetings road and confirmed.
Communications were received from
1\1, E. Thoreld re locating industries in Aurora.
V. Cloutier., Re old age anneties
,T. 11. Willis, Treasurer asking for a rase in salary of $50.00
Wettlaufer Bros , asking for a testimonial re Cement Kixer.
Hamilton Sewer pipe Company, Re sewer pipe.
The Gutta Percha Rubber Co Re Fire Hose
J. A. M. Armstrong, M. P. asking the :.:ayor to bring the matter
of locating a site for the new Post office.
The Clerk giving the following details in regard to the vote on
the Collis Bonus Bylaw. Number of votes cast for and against
North :':'ard, 107 for the bylaw and 6 against

The Auditors report of ~.1unicipal and School accounts were laid on
the table

Moved by i.Ir Browning. seconded by I,ir Davis that the .!\.udi tors report
of Municipal and School accounts is hereby accepted and finally
ps.ssed that the. Il:ayor be and is hereby instructed to sign the same
and that thet the Clerk be and is hereby instructed to to have two
hundred copies printed in pamphlet form and advertised accoJ:ding to
law

Moved by ldr ·Knowles seconded by IKr ]Kanning that the town Collector
be and is hereby instructed wo proceed forthwith to collect all
unpaid taxes and that the time for the return of the Collectors roll
be extended to thecfirs day 6f ll1ay and that the seal of the Corpor
ation be attached to thus resolution

Moved. by 7:1r Mitchell seconded by Mr Knowles that the Treasurers
salar'jjr be and the same is hereby increa.sed to Onehundred and fifty
dollars per year and that the bylaw committee be and they are hereby
instructed to bring in a bylaw at the next meeting of this Council
governing the same
Carried.
Moved by l'Ir Browning seconded by !clr Davis· that the fire committee
be and they are hereby instructed to to have the hook and ladder
ws.gon changed as s.sked for by the Fire Company and that the seal of
the Corporation be attached to this resolution.

1\r L1anning asked leave to introduce a bylaw to amend Bylaw No 26i
of this Corporation.
Leave .granted and bylaw .read 8; first time.
Eoved by Iir· Bassett seconded by lTr Mitchell that the Bylaw now
before the Council be raed a second and third time this day and that
rule 33 o~ bylaw No 10 be suspended for that :rnrpose
Carried.
Bylaw read a second time and Council went into committee of the
whole on the same Mr Iritchell in the chair.
Committee rose and reported the bylaw with blanks filled
Bylaw read a third time and passed.

The bylaw to license lloving picture shows was then brought before the
council.
Noved by lftr Knowles seconded by 1;r Hanning that rule 33 of bylaw
No be suspended and that the bylaw now before the Cougcil be read
a third time this day and passed
Carried.
Bylaw read a third time and passed
Council adjourned to meet at the call of the Mayor
